Personally I felt This content is protected was number 1. 2nd I would say was This content is protected 3rd I would say was This content is protected . And I am not talking about how the fights were or how they went or if they were one sided. The ranking should be about the significance the fight had (before the fight had actually happened).
I don't have a list of my own, but I don't agree with the above. With all the fights we've had over the past 14 years, there had to be some of greater significance.
This thread has nothing to do with my question. I didn't ask about the "Best fights". I asked about the "biggest fights" as far as significance (before the fight happened) is concerned. None of the fights I mentioned was great, but they were very big at the time they happened.
"Significance" is a pretty vague, arbitrary value. Are you looking for which ones grossed the most $, gate or PPV? Otherwise there is no metric or meaningful way to track such a thing.
Tyson v Lewis Hopkins v Calzaghe - the Yanks needing to see IF the Welsh/Brit was any good. Mayweather v Pac - Oh wait! Gatti v Ward
Highest Buys not Gross 2000-2010: Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather, May 2007 - 2.4 million PPV buys Mike Tyson vs Lennox Lewis, June 2002 - 1.97 million PPV buys Pacquiao vs. De la Hoya, December 6, 2008 – 1.26 million PPV buys
Paq and Floyd never fought. Tito and Oscar were in 1999. And Oscar and Chavez fought way back in 1996.
:-(So if you mean biggest by revenue, it's obviously Oscar and Mayweather, the last PPV I ordered from a Mayweather fight, that bull****, was as boring as watching paint dry..
3 best fights? Barrera/Morales I Gatti/Ward I Marquez/Vazquez III 3 Most historically noteworthy? Like when the best fought the best? Morales/Barrera Pacquiao/Marquez Mayweather/De La Hoya Trinidad/Hopkins Calzaghe/Hopkins Most hyped? Any De La Hoya or Mayweather fight + Tyson vs Lewis.
Mayweather-DeLaHoya Tyson-Lewis Hopkins-Trinidad; Hopkins-DeLaHoya; Pacquiao-Cotto; Mayweather-Hatton ...something like that...
