Should quitting not count? Think mental fortitude plays a part.

Okay. In ONE fight out of 75 he had a mental breakdown and started crying in the ring after displaying peculiar behavior for weeks prior to the match.... guess his chin isn’t so good after all.

Quitting had nothing to do with having a granite chin. He didn't quit because he was hurt by punches.

Why would he quit? Frustration? Many men fake getting knocked out to quit matches he just did it on his feet.

Lol never said his chin wasn’t great. Settle down folks. Although I don’t think it was the best.

Are you really that unfamiliar with the fight? It’s one of the most bizarre and infamous of the last 25 years.

I am familiar with it. But you can’t act like he wasn’t hurt lol man was crying in the ring. I was more referring that he was hurt and frustrated that’s why he quit.

That post right there is the post of someone unfamiliar with the fight or just trolling. You think he was crying from the pain of Lewis’ punches? You think he was acting as bizarrely as he was because he was frustrated that Lewis was outboxing him?

Yes. He has a mental breakdown in the ring. But let’s face it had he been winning the fight he probably doesn’t have a mental break down. He was getting beat and he mentally quit. If he wasn’t in any pain he probably wouldn’t have cared to quit. I don’t care how good ur chin is ur not getting in a fight a Lewis and not in pain. Stop acting like he was Superman with an unstoppable chin. He was in distress and quit via mental breakdown.

Agreed. Emanuel steward had left McCall’s camp years prior and was now training Lewis. In the meantime, Oliver had spent much of the previous year in drug rehab and several weeks prior to the fight destroyed a Christmas tree in a hotel lobby. The man was not right in the head. To this day no one knows what the crying scene was all about but he seemingly just refused to fight that evening. I remember Greg Page being in his corner and cutting the tape off his gloves after McCall had essentially been DQ’d..
