Actually I am more suprised to the amount of punches BH threw. I think in his last god knows how many fights he did not throw more than 450 punches over 12 rds.
b-hop could throw more because it was against a junior middle who had gone up too much, too quickly, while b-hop was always a natural light heavy. the smaller and weaker your opponent the less energy in general you need to use up. and the reverse is true. for example often times when a smaller figher moves up to the heavyweight division, for the most part the weight difference gets bigger as the rounds go on. a little guy has to put more effort in avoiding the heavier, stronger, bigger reach/height of his opponent. the results would be dismal if hopkins fought a young bull in the light heavy division. the reason he lost to the mediocre jermaine taylor was due to age and nothing more. the young taylor simply had more reserves and hopkins knew this so he saved his energy. provided there is a ref who would force hopkins not to huggy bear his way to victory a young light heavy, super middle, or even a good middleweight would win on energy level alone. hopkin is doing nothing different to roy jones jr. it's all business now and cashing in on their name. seriously when was the last time roy, tarver, hopkins fought a young fresh fighter at a TOP level? (and no, muriqi, henshaw etc dont count). if the above three fought and beat guys like chad dawson, paul briggs, pavlik, kessler, even the oldish calzaghe and won, then yes i would be mighty impressed. at the moment it is a well orchestrated show for 3 big names in those divisions to simply pick fighters that they can survive against now they cannot win a real belt anymore. i mean, are we gonna say tarver's IBO belt is legit now? hell, i cannot even remember what jones jr's belt is but it certainly isn't one of the four big ones! if fans stop going to see these fossils perform then they might realise no one is fooled into the nostaligic dance they play anymore. time to retire or face the real champs of this period. :deal

He threw more power shots then he did jabs and landed on 7 more jabs then power shots. What the **** are you talking about?
7 punches a round was Hopkins vs Taylor I,II, Maybe it was single digits landed vs Tarver as well. Hopkins broke the double digit barrier, landing about 12 punches a round this fight. Wow, An average of 12 landed punches per 3 minutes of fighting !!!
