Decided to rewatch the fight again today. How did you score the fight? Round 1: Clear Degale, slow round but Groves was shadow boxing air, and Degale was landing jabs Round 2: Groves, extremely close round which truly could have gone either way. Round 3: Degale, close round Round 4: Groves Round 5: Degale Round 6: Clear Degale round, landed the way better shots, and hurt Groves. Round 7: Degale Round 8: Degale Round 9: Degale, Groves appeared hurt at the end of the round, great body work by Degale. Round 10: Only clear Groves round for me so far. Degale's cut opened up and Groves just outworked him. Round 11: Degale-This was an extremely close round, but Degale landed the better shots in my opinion, I'll give it to Groves even though I had Degale winning it. Round 12: Degale-Dominated the majority of this round, but Groves did good work in the last 15 seconds. I don't think he did enough to steal the round. Final score 116-112. Clear but competitive fight, Groves was on his backfoot 90% of the fight, and he did not faze/hurt Degale once, on the other hand Groves looked hurt on several occasions. I just can't see how anyone can score this fight for Groves. Degale was the aggressor, the ring general and landed the much more effective shots.
First time I had Degale winning by a wider margin, but most rounds were competitive. The second time I gave Groves rounds just because I felt I was being unfair(since I've always disliked Groves) even though I had Degale winning some of them.
See the second time I was overly nice to DeGale because I liked Groves and thought I was being unfair to James the first time.:conf
lol, c'mon CST, you know Degale won that fight clearly. Round 1 and 6-9 aren't even debatable. The rest are close rounds, the only clear round by Groves is 10, if you disagree give me another one and I'll rewatch it. Btw, Serge or MVC? What do you score that fight . http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=530689&page=4
DeGale probably won but its not an easy fight to score, it wouldn't have been a robbery either way, it probably should have been a draw to make everybody happy.
I had it a clear robbery, Groves was fighting on the back foot 90% of the fight, Degale landed the better shots and won way more clear rounds. I just can't give Groves 7 rounds. The fight was competitive but the clear winner was Degale. Like I said before, 1 and 5-9 were clear Degale, and 10 was a clear Groves. There's just no way you can give Groves all 6 of those remaining close rounds unless you're part of his family .
If you do try finding me a clear Groves round besides 10, I tried watching the fight in a perspective of a "Groves" supporter, and gave him the benefit of the doubt as much as I could.
