The answer is that all 5 of these have all been used at some point during negotiations.

-The split and promotional arrangements are very legitimate business concerns.

-The need for a temporary stadium, the idea that a forehead cut would prevent him from fighting 6 months after receiving it, and the concept of fear of needles in the context have all been major, major excuses. The fear of needles part is an actual roadblock, though.
