Cotto's left hook to the liver will be taken away from him the second the bell rings, as will his jab.

What will Cotto do when he is eating Jabs and Straight rights and cant land a shot in return?

That's not Cotto's bread and butter punch anymore, and hasn't been for years.

Things aren't looking so good for Cotto(e) and his hook. I mean Floyd already had Ortiz right hook taken away the moment after the opening bell rang. Right hooks have caught Floyd before back in the past, but left hooks haven't ever troubled him.

Cotto seemed a bit slow and tentative to capitalize on the openings in the Marg fight. I think he was too cautious. He may well be again with Mayweather. If he gets answered quickly after the first few attempts with the left hook he may not go for it again against floyd.

hope i'm wrong and Cotto brings it on the night and it hits home a good few times.

    Did I miss something?
Did this fight already take place with Mayweather winning?

    Agreed (unfortunately)

...hope Cotto lets his hands go and tries to find/create some openings.

to be honest with you, I don't sit there and think of chances whenever I do predictions. I just pick a winner and loser.

Not much point in saying cesare will kick philla's AZZ, but philla has a 35% chance.

Cotto's not going to rely on his left hook solely in this fight. His best bet is to throw them in combination after he lands a stiff jab, or a 1-2, or a lead right, just like he used it in the Mosley fight. When you catch Floyd up top, you can catch his body, and then up top again, if you patiently pick your punches on the inside like Augustus did (too bad he didn't care for a more effective guard). He can also throw uppercuts, and a right to the body. Not to mention the fact he can switch-hit, and turn southpaw to tag Floyd with right hooks to the head and body, or more importantly, the straight left through the pocket in his guard.

Cotto's jab won't be taken away unless Cotto allows it to be, and his left hook won't be taken away immediately. There's only so much you can do to neutralize a good jab, and Floyd usually takes a few rounds to adjust to a fighter regardless.

Remember these words: "Cotto will put Mayweather down with a Jab."

his jab is very underrated. his right hand isn't bad.
