what will happen if GGG is being forced to fight on his back-foot?

    How will he fare?

Will he refuse to give up ground and get stopped?

I havn't seen all his fights. Is there a fight were he fights of his back-foot for a prolonged period of time, I mean rounds? If so, link it please.

Anyway, the question(s) is: how will he handle being pressured, will he fall apart, will he become even more violent?

I imagine he can fight defensivly after all those amature fights. From my understanding his "mexican-style" of fighting was developed between him and Abel.

he's had the same aggressive style throughout his pro career, Abel just ramped it up. he's backed off to reset during fights but no one has pressured him. his balance, range and accuracy are too good. the only difficult pro fight he's ever had was kassim ouma, when he was very ill. the hardest shots he's taken as a pro were probably an uppercut and i think an overhand right by khomitsky in the 3rd or 4th round but they didn't budge him.

i think he genuinely respects Rubio so i expect him to be more careful & box instead of the recent wild head hunting for the quick knockout vs Geale.

Yeah, I think his defence is being vastly underrated.

not by anyone who knows **** about boxing. even statistically he's top 5 defensively, and besides that rarely gets his clean much less combo'd. and of the top defensive fighters his style is the most easy to get hit because he doesn't run, clinch or show a great deal of head movement. he's looking to land, period.

i've seen him do that even when an opponents good punch barely misses, as in the Rosado fight, although the commentators assumed it landed.

Rubio's only chance is to do this but he doesn't have the output or the inclination to keep it up I don't think. Probably already resigned to the fact that he's going to get stopped.

I actually really hope he gets pressured a bit more in the future so he can show his excellent counter-skills that he implied in his style before Sanchez turned him into a stalking destroyer. You wouldn't believe how versatile the kid is if you only followed him since his HBO debut fight with Proksa.

If someone is able to force him on the backfoot that means GGG can't hurt that opponent and he's being forced to fight a style he's not used to. When a powerful aggressor is being forced backwards he's pretty much losing and in trouble.

The only way Golovkin will get backed up is if he goes to LHW and takes on Beterbiev. Nobody close to his size is backing him up.

What happens when GGG is forced on the back foot?
His opponent will have to take punches coming forward.

Notice when GGG steps back out of range, the opponents do not want to follow too closely.
    I wonder why that is?:rofl
