Just curious how they are going to backtrack on losing a fight right up until you win it makes you a bad fighter and what not. What did you say now that it was Silva rather than Lesnar? Is Silva an "amateur" and all the other bull**** thrown at Lesnar? Just throwing it out there.
In fairness Lesnar got caught and managed to recover. Silva just got his **** pushed in for 4 rounds and then managed to score a late sub. Still both class fighters. Lesnar is not on the same planet in terms of overall abililty (p4p).
Pretty much all the greats of the sport have been in situations where they got their ass beat before coming back to win. Minotauro had Sylvia, Cro Cop, Sapp. Fedor had Mark Hunt and Randleman. Sakuraba had Smirnovas and Galesic. Frank Shamrock had Tito Ortiz. Overcoming adversity is a big part of what it means to be a champion. Silva and Lesnar should be praised for their accomplishments, not mocked.
No excuses, Silva looked like garbage. I'm still glad he won, and that's admitted bias against Sonnen, who pissed me off for talking **** about Crocop and the Noguera's. Poetic justice though still, he subbed the tool with a triange/armbar, and he probably tapped to both after talking **** about getting a black belt from the Nog's. The sub was epic, but the rest of Silva's performance was ****. Props to Sonnen for controlling the fight. But, like I said. He couldn't finish, his subs suck, he has takedowns, cardio and weak sub defense. Put Hughes' brain in Sonnen's body and Hughes would have Subbed Silva rather easily.
Good thread. Being 1 round behind is hardly losing on the cards. Being 4-0 is bad ****. I think I would probably score round 1 10-8 as Silva just got beat on.
