For the last 6 + months now all i've heard coming from fish eyes and Natahan Cleverly is how they're going to make the fight with Bernard Hopkins at the Millienium stadium it'll be a unifcation bout etc etc. and finally it seems even Hopkins has confirmed he's willing to come to Wales to fight Cleverly if the money amongst other things is right something fish eyes has promised there'd be plenty of but what's going to happen if Hopkins (as many people on here atleast have been predicting) loses to Chad Dawson?

It would basically more or less kill the potential matchup with Cleverly and considering that since the Bellew fight Cleverly has been fighting nothing but cans in an attempt to keep the Hopkins fight alive it could be disasterous for his career if the fight doesn't eventually come off :-(

He'll just rematch Karo Murat then, or unify with Shumenov (who, of the titlists, has actually tried to unify). Campillo and winner or loser of Cloud/Pascal loom as big fights for Cleverly, but I see him as the type of guy whose resume will leave a lot of people angry in his lack of good matchups despite LHW being a hotbed of talent.

I'm from Wales, and a big fan of Clev but he will go the route of Joe Calzaghe. Soft euro defences before going and fighting the odd big name here an there...

he has alot of skill and that but i see him being managed just like Joe...

If Hopkins wins hell go onto unify the WBO/WBC/Ring titles

If Hopkins loses . . . well Hopkins will be getting a lot less money

    WIN - WIN

I don't think the BHop fight matters towards cleverly, he will milk the WBO title for as long as possible.

Cleverly is not a legitimate Champion in my eyes. Any fighter who has a strap can lay claim to being the best in their respective division, but just holding a belt to make that claim does nothing for me, either does facing fighters who you have everything to gain, and nothing to lose from(Hopkins). Lets to see him take a risk and prove his credentials if he feels he's a real Champ. Lets see him fight a fighter who isn't old, who he can look to impose his work-rate on, someone who's quick, who can Box.

Right now it seems Cleverly has his eye on the predictable Shumenov, due to his style, and an old Hopkins because he knows it makes money. Because of Hopkins's age he might! have a shot at beating him, even if many have their doubts, its still conceivable because of that factor.

It's all he talks about, if Hopkins loses the biggest fight Cleverly will take is Shumenov then I wouldn't be surprised if he retired.

Cleverly will move on and fight the 8th best Super MW out of Ghana at 175lbs.

Fwank will keep him here in the UK fighting sub par opposition for too long, and waste his career as he's done with others, all for the quid.

Clev isnt a big enough draw to make a fight with a top opponent financially viable. Until he has a higher profile & can sell out a big(ish) venue you can forget about him fighting anyone in the world top10. If he doesnt get a decent trainer you can forget about him beating anyone in the top10 & Fwank knows it.

Expect a long line of "never been stopped" WBO ranked defenses, Hopkins fight aint gonna happen even if he loses to Dawson

What will Clev do if Hopkins loses to Dawson? He'll fight a Kosovan cabbage-picker. Same as he would if Hopkins won.

He'll do what he's done up to now. Fight unworthy opponents. Enzo Mc?
