I think the WBA will declare the winner "Super Champion" and let Valuev defend the "Regular title" once and then have the "Super Champion" face the "Regular title" holder or have him stripped! Thus leaving them with one champion either way.

    What do you think?

"Super Champion" "Regular Champion" "Interim Champion" "Unified Champion" "Undisputed Champion", WBC , WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, Ring Magazine, WBU, IBA, IBU, WBF... it never ends does it! How about one belt... One Champion!

All that matters is that there will finally be 1 recognized HW champ/RING title holder. But, who gives a **** about the "titles"? If the fight eventually leads to a Wlad/Valuev fight, then it's all the better.

I agree with you... who cares about the titles! But the fact that the titles exists makes it possible for these fighters to make claims about being champion and I hate that!

For example, Anthony Mundine says he is a 3 time world Champion, but this is totaly false. All he has ever held is the "Regular" WBA Super-Middleweight title on two occasions, once under Sven Ottke and once under Mikkel Kessler who were both Super Champions. Plus he lost to both guys before winning the "Regular" title each time! He recently won the IBO title at Middleweight, which is why he says he is a 3 time world champion but in reality, he has never won a world title?

This is not the only case of course... I hate this!!!!

What will the WBA do about Klitschko vs Chagaev? Very little in my opinion.. if Chagaev loses then they will brush him aside and just have Valuev as champion, if Chagaev wins I guess they will have to find a way to get him in the ring with Valuev again.

When will they decide about the Valuev - Chagaev issue? They said on Monday 8 June. I haven't heard anything new. And nothing is mentioned in their website... :think

You've got to factor in Wlad's defences of his other belts, meaning that fight won't take place 'til Summer 2010. A looooooong wait.

if chag wins he is the superchamp. if wlad wins valuev is there champ and chag gets nothing. and they don't recognize wlad as champ for no real reason. maybe i am the champ if that fight is a draw and valuev gets caught with a hooker.... this is all such bull****!!!

That's what I meant by stripping him if he doesn't face Valuev. They'll force him to fight Valuev or give up the belt. He won't have much choice because of his obligations to the IBF and WBO. I doubt they'll give him until mid 2010 to accomodate Valuev.

That's precisely how I feel. Chagaev already beat Valuev & Ruiz, the 2 guys that will be fighting for their "other" belt. Chag is the WBA champ already. If they make the winner of that shitshow the mandatory for the winner of Klitschko vs. Chagaev then all the better.

One belt is just too simple in this day and age. I guarantee the winner of the Wlad-Chag bout will be the new 'Super special awesome fantastic WBA Champion', thus rendering Valuev the 'WBA Regular Champion'. It's obviously the reason why the WBA 'postponed' the outcome of their hearing as to what would happen with their belt considering the farce that took place a few weeks back. This could only happen in boxing.

But the winner will be recognized by the boxing world in general as the WBA champ regardless since Chagaev already beat both guys who are fighting for their title. That's all that really matters. It'll just take away any shred of credibilty that the WBA belt had left.

The WBA belt still had credibility? With 3 champions @ Super Bantam at present, the organisation is now just a joke.
