    It wasn't close.

I was backing Hopkins in that fight but it was clear he hadn't done near enough to win it, especially when he basically gave up in the last round.
I think he had the ability just lacked the heart and stamina to keep going.

I hope the JC vs Pav fight happens because it is going to be a *******. Either way. Pavlik doesn't really have that one punch KO type power so IF he does KO Joe (which i think is the only way he will win at this point) he is going to have to beat joe up badly, as he has a pretty damn solid chin and hes a determined bloke, and even when hes copping an arsefull he will still return punches.

It was alot closer than the Kessler fight, I even had many Calzaghe fanboys saying they agree. Hopkins did land the more solid blows, anyone could see that, but Calzaghe landed more punches/slaps. Hopkins heart was there, but his age did catch up with him that night, and down the stretch it became obvious that Hopkins is good bit out of his prime, where Calzaghe was only maybe 2 years out of his, which was when he fought Lacy in March of 06.

I really dont know what will happen in the Calzaghe/Pavlik fight, I do feel Pavliks workrate will be helpful in this fight. I somehow see Clazaghe attempting to go toe to toe with Pavlik and being floored in the process, somewhere in the middle rounds, when Enzo tells him that the fight is close and Pavlik may be winning, based on landing the harder more effective blows. I feel Pavlik being the great finisher he his, will stop Calzaghe that round or possibly a little later after Calzaghe takes more of beating.

I do think Pavlik can knock someone out with one punch

After Joe gives Pavlik a boxing lesson we will say, "Yep, he was behind on the cards when he knocked slappy the **** out, but we expected that."

I expect Calzaghe to beat Pavlik.

this thread was made in response to a dumb thread titled titled something along the lines of "what will euro's say when pavlik KO's calzaghe".

maybe you need to look at some of the wankers on this forum that do nothing but talk **** about euro fighters and realise this ain't a one way street and we put up with just as much crap on here.

They will say Pavlik was a straight ahead one dimensional untested green Champ, same as they did about Kessler......
