What will Vitali's Excuse Be in MARCH 2014 for avoiding his mandatory WBC defense?

    Boxed Ears had a great hypothetical one but lets have some realistic ones

    I think he will hold out as long as possible then retire when the WBC threatens to strip him. The exact same thing Lennox Lewis did but he only sat on the title for 9 months and by this time it will have been 2 and a half years since the WBC had been defended against a Mandatory challenger. (the longest in heavyweight history when not during a war Louis fighting in WWII and Ali refusing to fight in Vietnam causing the WBC tournament)

    He got credit for fighting two Mands in a row so in reality it isn't 2 years as he fulfilled his obligation. Sorry.

    HIS last Mandatory was Adamek in 2011 both Chisora and Charr were voluntary.

    If he has no intention of fighting, he should just retire instead of holding the title hostage.

    Personally I think he should just give his belt to David Haye. He is after all the most exciting fighter in the Division.

    Then retire and give another boxer a chance at the title instead of the Dog in the Manger act that he is pulling.
    When the farmer saw that his dog was sleeping on the hey preventing his animals from eating he shot the dog.

    Nah, either fight someone or let anyone WBC want to fight for the vacant title instead. Can be Haye or whoever else :p
