What will WBA chumpion Mikkel Kessler's remaining career amount to?

You're full of **** as a Christmas goose. Discredit Calzaghe my ass. At least 10 times I've said that Joe, to his credit, looked like he was willing to leave absolutely everything in the ring in that fight, but Kessler did not. That hardly discredits Slappy Joe.

 

sartisan main problem is his height and size.

he is about 5.9 and built like a light middle.

makes it hard for him to be as long as his style would suit and as strong as he needs to be with men of 168 size


dont think he will ever be a champ, but as a lower top 10 to 15 gatekeeper he is talented.

skillwise he is right up there, but his size fundamentals will hold him back.

12 to 15 would be a fair ranking giving his good showing v kessler , but lack of names on his resume to rank him higher.

 

Fair enough. Wouldn't a lack of imagination amount to a lack of ring smarts?

Kessler's corner was bloody awful. They said brilliant things like "you've gotta hit him."atsch

Kessler's career will amount to nothing, he will always be the guy that lost to Joe c. and ducked C-level fighter Edison Miranda, so that he could fight F- and D- level fighters in Europe.

 

The reason I say Kessler/Pavlik is a 50/50 fight is that "styles make fights," and Kelly has never fought anyone who is both bigger than he is, and is a solid orthodox boxer.

Well - hopefully Kessler will get the chance to clean out 168. He is surely the best of the lot after JC has gone (if he is that is).

It was a mad fault to leave the chance to KTFO of Miranda and instead seek the regular bull**** title. It gives him just a bit to negotiate with but nothing more.
Palle is out of his league here - as he has built his entire promoting career making fights like Tyson-Nielsen and other circus fights.

Kessler has the talent and deserves to be managed by someone like ODLH or somebody who could get him the big fights. Kessler wants the big fights!

Hopefully Kessler will get the chance to beat Bute, Froch, Taylor, Dawson and Pavlik. But I dont know how keen HBO and Showtime are to showcase him anymore, after the spectacle regarding the Miranda negotiations

 

How is Kessler going to clean out 168 when he was scared to fight Miranda. Kessler isn't going to do anything but stay hidden and fight nothing but mandatories.

 

I want to root for MK but he's making it hard.

His last fight and this one seem really pointless.

Belt or no belt he could have gotten better fights than these.

Then he had the Miranda fight good to go and Abraham slipped in there and did to Miranda what Kessler would've done.

He is probably the best sm in the world but is falling into a pattern of fighting 2nd raters.

Maybe his next fight will see him in with someone signifigant.

If not than he'll be firmly on the road to irrelevancy.

 

Kessler gotta fight Bute sometime down the road,it's a great matchup
