First off, Cotto will not get KO'd in the same fashion as Ricky, because Cotto is actually a good boxer, a VERY good boxer. Second, let's not be so certain Pacman could even beat Cotto (even at catchweight), because we're forgetting how much of a monster Cotto is. If I'm fearing anyone's safety, it's Pacquiao's, because he's facing a guy who's gonna be giant standing next to him, and one that packs a menacing punch.

So if Pacquiao wins even at catchweight, he's gonna deserve all the respect out there. Because he's fighting in a weight zone (145) he shouldn't be at, and is giving and risking so much more.

    18 months off.

Of course if Floyd fought Pac after Pac was coming off an 18 month layoff, you would call it a cherry pick.

I love it when I hear that kind of talk ....

That is exactly what Pacquiao is banking on...thats why he isn't fighting Mosley...he had a stellar performance in his last outing.

Manny was present ringside for the Cotto - Clottey fight and immediately afterwards approached Arum and solicited a fight with Cotto ....thinking
he has better odds based on the performance and severity of cut.

Manny is in for a rude awakening and will get his ASS handed to him !!!!!

Are you talking about Pacquiao? It has to be Pacquiao! He did exactly that several times already. And it's about time that those who wish to fight him go down or up to his division. And yet he still has the sportsmanship to give-in to his opponent's preferred weight.

Pacquiao is a former flyweight world champ who is fighting above lightweight.

When has this even been done before? We should be treasuring history being made in our era.

Only in this hate-filled sewer could he be criticized for weight issues.

There will be no excuses......Trinidad Sr. and many others in Puerto Rico have publicly stated that if Pacman should win they will take their hats off to him.
However, they are convinced that Cotto will hurt Pacman as well as myself.

Pacman beating Cotto will not happen !!!!!!

Wake up from that ferry tale dream that the press is mesmerizing you with!!!

Agreed, I rate-em both & if Cotto feels fine coming in at 145 then so be it & let the best man win, this is a bizzness after all but we don't want 2 start going down the Sugar Ray Leonard ****in bull**** song & dance act road by demanding fighters come in 7/12 + whatever pounds under just for the alleged privalige ov being in a ring with him i.e Leonard/La Londe & Duran 3, he even tried it on with Hearns & Hagler. It took about 5+ years 2 cut that **** out.

It's just how Cotto feels & lets hope commonsence plays a part in this, I'am 4 Cotto on this even at 145, could be late TKO.

But please remember that this is a Vegas fight & if it goes the distance the winner will be WHO'S BEST 4 VEGAS:smoke

Eh....even at 147 there would be excuses. But on the flip side.....the excues will come from both sides! Win or loose PAC or Cotto.....their fans will come up with excues no matter the weight. Whoever wins....no matter how dominant or competitive, the fight is between TWO QUALITY and TOP LEVEL guys in the sport. NO EXCUSES! The best man will win....bottom line.
