What would a dominant win over Pavlik do for your rating of Calzaghe?

That's pretty crazy if you think about. He's already the champ at two divisions and if he beats Pavlik, he won't techincally get the belts at MW but he will have beaten the undisputed MW champ.

Good win for either man, if Calzaghe wins he gets more noticed in America, which he desperately needs if he wants the respect of fight fans. Other than Dawson, I cant think of a tougher challenge for him, maybe Bryd?

Yeah, but MW's a weak division, means only so much. The best credit is of course being the Undisputed SMW in a very strong division.

Sorry, even though I could use it to make Calzaghe look even better, I just cannot lie about my true feelings on the matter. I want to make the best of it, but I just really, really hate Jermain Taylor and Pavlik has now become an extended issue within the Taylor hype virus, I can't make out like it's bigger than it is.

I mean, Pavlik's a good fighter, obviously, but he's no Kessler or Eubank, so it's just another solid win with the top vs. top of the divisions making it fun historically.

Hmmm.... oh man, **** Jermain Taylor.:rofl

Yeh but I still think that 20 years from now looking back on it it would be a great accomplishment (given Pavliks career doesn't get completely derailed). Do you think Pavlik would give JC any huge problems? I think that if JC takes too many flush right hands he might be in trouble in the later rounds and taken into deep water. But then again JC is smart enough to know that Pavlik is going to be doing his constant 1-2 throwing and should be able to stay away from it for the most part by circling left around Pavlik and constantly moving and jabbing.

I know u cant:yep When u dislike someone? Its BALLGAME in any further rational. Hey I understand it comes with the territory and you gotta believe what you do. Yet? Your habit is OVERKILL on the downplay at times. No worries we all have our own good qualities and bad habits:D Sometimes? I sink with the ship:lol:

Its a great LEGACY win for the Winner and the real title implications should show that. When you beat all the best? There is NO DOUBT:nono
I salute JC like a mutha****a he really makes the fight happen. That's what the HISTORY OF CHAMPIONS IS ALL ABOUT. I'll annoint Calzaghe the ANTI-MAYWEATHER:good

I know youd much rather watch Calzaghe whoop the bejesus outta Taylor, but Pavlik made u look like a genius the first time, c'mon, give GREAT FIGHTS A CHANCE:happy

If Calzaghe beats Pavlik, all the people on here claiming Pavlik will KO Joe will turncoat and start calling Pavlik a bum, like they did with Lacy.

While I like Pavlik, and see that he has ability, he is just the latest bandwagon for those xenophobic boxing fans posting on here who can't stand to see a non-American fighter as champ.

In reality, Pavlik has really only been around for 5 minutes as undisputed MW champ and has only defended his title once, whereas Calzaghe just beat the previous longterm undisputed MW champ Hopkins (albeit at a higher weight), and still these people won't credit Calzaghe (Hopkins was past it is their excuse - whereas before the fight plenty were claiming Hopkins would KO Calzaghe).

Doesn't matter what Calzaghe does, or who he beats, these vultures are hovering in hope that a US based fighter will beat him so they can feel justified in their criticism of him.

No doubt I'll be called a hater or nuthugger now

Hey, insult me, but leave Mr. Rhys Meyers out of this, he's done more in 1 hit series for the art of acting than any of us will do in a lifetime, even if any of you ended up a professional actor.:deal

Seeing Calzaghe throughly crucify and torture Taylor would be a work of art that would be a personal highlight of my time as a boxing fan.

    I agree.

A light heavy beating down a slow middle, two divisions below him, who's punch will be neutralised by a weight change, means little to me.

Joe Wins every time over this type of fighter.

Stick Joe in with a slick/technical man and questions get asked.

Pavliks style is absolutely made for Joe and he knows it, thats why he's been mentioning Pavlik for so long at every opportunity.
