What would a dominant win over Pavlik do for your rating of Calzaghe?

It puts him a couple of notches up. If he can dominate Pavlik then you have to say that it's one of his best wins. Obviously though he needs another handful of top wins to make leaps on the ATG list.

 

itll do a lot to show that within a few years he beat the champs at both MW and LHW while remaining SMW champ. after the last taylor-pavlik fight i can t help but seeing Calzaghe embarass pavlik in an otherwise boring decision victory. if i was pavlik i WOULD NOT take this fight.

 

I agree and I think it actually does increase their standing. These type of wins IMO are useful down the road when these guys retire and you're looking back at their h2h ability. Just further confirms the fact that Floyd/Calzaghe completely dominate fighters like Hatton/Pavlik. You can say styles make fights all you want, but thats part of boxing...part of the game and thats just how it is, can't discredit their superiority over very hard punching pressure fighters. Takes a lot of skill to offset those styles and its not as black and white as some of you make it seem. Easier to appreciate if you've actually attempted the sport of boxing

A great deal maybe but he cannot be classed no.P4P 1. Especially after a ageing BHOP took his ass to school. Mayweather all the way. Lets see if we will finally see Joe put in some heavy meaty looking shots instead of this powerpuff, slapping high output amatuer looking ****.

British : solid top 10, probably top 5
Euro : Probably top 10
World : Not really on the radar, outside top 30 for sure.

More respect, he has done great things with his career and if this happens, well, It will be cool to retired undefeated with almost 50 victories. Pavlik is a great fighter after all

undeafeated linear world champions would always boost a resume, but i already know Calzaghe is the mutts nutts so his rating wouldnt change to much.

I definately think Kelly Pavlik is the best win out there for Joe, theres a lot of fighter that would be good wins like Bute, Froch, Mundine, Dawson, Tarver etc, but Kelly Pavlik is the most exciting possility for me.
