A: Roy isn't as shot as we thought.

B: The critics are right about Joe.

    C: A little of both.

    D: Roy got lucky.

    E: All the above.

i don't see it happening... how Joe handled Kessler was superb, I see Jones as an easy fight for him so a win would be damn near impossible. What it would mean? It would mean that Roy is one of the greatest boxers of our time.

Jones is only about 60% of the fighter that he was in his prime, and Calzaghe is about 60% of the fighter that people think he is.

I dont know that Jones can beat Joe at this stage, much like Hopkins Jones isnt going to keep up with Joes punch output, and will most likely be outworked, however if Jones lands right hands like the ones that Hopkins landed I dont think that Joe will jump up so fast.

Your post is a pretty good explaination of why my own vote was "all the above."

If Jones wins the critics of Calslappy will be proven right. If he loses the critics will still be right, cos Calslappy lost to Hopkins :yep

If Roy does end up showing some signs of his past during the fight and ends up winning it then I'll give credit to Roy, won't really bash on Joe because as I said, if Roy shows any signs(even if poor) of his past(nearly impossible as I'm predicting) then anyone would be in major trouble against him. As Roy already commented on the fight and mentioned his tactics, it doesn't seem that any signs of his past will be shown, he already made it clear that he's planning to fight off the ropes, meaning he's admitting he doesn't have the legs/stamina to keep it up in the middle of the ring all night. Joe picked the perfect time for this fight, if Roy could show even 1% of his past then Joe would never sign for it. As said before, big money with very little risk at this point, it hurts to say it as a huge Roy fan but that's how it is.

It would mean he still has what it takes to win vs Calzaghe...even this diminished version of himself !!

He should retire after the win and get all the praise he deserves..
