Louis, Ali, Marciano and Lewis would have beaten them all easily.

Johnson would struggle with his primitive style. He may not beat one of them under modern rules. if Dempsey chooses to slug against either Peter or Brewster he could lose, but would beat the rest. Him vs. Byrd would be interesting though.

You left out a few such as Sanders, McCline, and Williamson. Wlad has had 54 fights already. No heavyweight in history has gone 54-0. Not one. Styles can make fights, and punchers can end them quickly. Other factors such as injury, match making on the way up, politics, our illness can strike at any time. Even the best boxers in the world had off nights. I think likely that everyone on the list would have at least one loss. Ali or Holmes would have the best chance of running the table.

Peter and Brock aside, that's a sorry list. They pose no problems for any of the greats.

A Goerge Foreman or Mike Tyson for example would run thru that list like Indian Curry.

I wouldn't be too sure of that.

Peter is very comparable to Lyle and Foreman just barely got by him. Brewster punches even harder and has a better chin than both, so i'd hardly say that would be a walkover either. And Byrd can certainly give George fits like Young did, although i'd expect Foreman to catch him like Ike did.

exactley! when you run into a super southpaw freak of nature like corrie sanders, your bound to automatically have one loss!

Even though there's a list of guys who, if we did individual one on one matchups, would be favored by absolutely everyone on paper, I don't think anyone would go 54-0 vs his resume if they followed it to a T.

Not because he's fought ATG's (he hasn't), but because it's damn hard to fight solid, top 10 level competition of just about every possible style for that long in your career without a setback happening sooner or later. Every full fledged HW out there except for Marciano, Jeffries, and pre exile Ali lost to fighters viewed to be beneath their level at one point or another, and even those 3, came damn close to losing to guys who aren't now viewed to be on their level.

Edit: I should also mention that even those 3 examples I gave didn't fight 54 fights, either.
