what would be better for Bute, next after the fight with Grachev ?

Who cares, he's about as relevant today as he was 12 months ago.

 

let him get past Grachev first, I don't think he should rematch Froch, the fight will end the same way as the first did

 

Maybe he should put some muscles on those stick legs and go to 175.

 

He needs to work legs and neck, he literally has smaller legs than your average flyweight.

But ur wrong about who cares.

The guy is still at the top of the food chain at SMW, and most agree that he'll be at or near the top when he moves up to LHW.

If Bute and his team are doing anything right, they're preparing Bute for a move to 175lbs with this 170lbs catchweight fight.

They're in effect draining Grachev, making sure he's not at his best. They better put on some muscle because Grachev is physically stronger and mentally stronger than Bute.

 

I always worry about fighters when they go up a division and then drop down again.
If Bute beats Grachev then he should decide if he can still safely make SMW. If he can I think he should stay there. Thats where he has made his name and regardless of the negatives that get said about him, he is a former SMW world champ, a top 10 SMW, with more SMW title defences than all of the other SMWs in the top 10 and has fought several top 10 SMWs.
Even if Bute cannot ever beat Froch, there are many top SMWs I think he could beat in Abraham, Steiglitz, Balzsay etc
Also Kessler has faded badly and no longer slips punches, so this faded version of Kessler may be a possibility. I also think Bute/Ward due to styles is a very close fight.


What amuses me most about the negatives Bute gets is before Froch beat him how he was avoided and everyone seems to forget that

Ward didnt want to fight him
Pavlik didnt want to fight him
I Read Dirrell wouldnt fight him in Canada and as challenger said if he did it would have to be in America
Kessler apparently didnt seem interested, though I would imagine that was due to being unwell as Kessler hasnt ducked anybody and not fought often
Steiglitz apparently didnt want a unification though I have only read this on here

Thats alot of fighters who didnt seem to want to risk it against Bute and we know Bute was willing as he made offers and agreed to fight Froch away

 

But you never know how the body will react to putting on muscle weight, much less when you're at the advanced age of Lucian.

But I'd like to see him get thicker thighs and neck and go to 175lbs and try his luck there, there are very good fights there for him, Pascal, Cloud and Dawson.

Bute-Pascal could do good in Canada, they'd make good money.

 

First of all if Bute beats Grachev, you'll start hearing of a rematch with Froch at possibly 170lbs also, rather than 168lbs. The IBF belt will be vacated in early 2013, as requested by the IBF for doing such a catch weight while Stevenson is waiting for his shot.

Yes, I firmly believe that Bute wants and should rematch Froch, no matter the likely outcome that many are ready to put their houses on...

At this point, it's a make it or break it attitude that's needed.

After the second Froch fight, Bute will be moving up to 175lbs, so will Andre Ward. They will join Pascal, Dawson, Cloud & Cleverly at the weight.

Froch on his part will most likely stay at 168lbs, seeking a much anticipated rematch with Mikkel Kessler, especially if Kessler can't land another Ward fight at home. We already know that won't happen (Ward rematch).....

 

I honestly think he should avoid re matching Froch, it'll be a simular outcome every time, if he was weight drained going to 175 would be for the best.
