bollocks, you need to get your facts straight. You really think Paulie is a big name in NY? Ticket sales for Ngoujou did not suggest that.

what does it matter anyway? Did popularity matter when Hatton fought Maussa, Urango, Vilches, Pedersen etc etc
of course not, so stop clinging on to lame excuses for avoiding Witter.

    So what.

Ngoudjo did beat Paulie - but there were three judges at ringside and ***gi got the nod. Deal with it. Move on.

No way in a million years would Paulie beat Witter - and that is people's gripe. Hatton is talking about fighting Paulie because he knows the money would be better and it would satisfy the US fight fans, who aren't particularly interested in him anyway it seems. This is opposed to fighting the genuine No. 1 contender who happens to live half hour's drive away!

I understand the reasons why the fight hasn't happened and agree to a certain extent, but now is the time to get on with it.

Beeston, I find you reasonable on this. I have expressed my gripe with Hatton facing Malignaggi rather than Witter. I saw someone on this forum say: "Hatton's taking a confidence builder then the number three, that's good enough for me". Well I'm sorry to speak out of turn, but if you're boxing fan rather than and fan of a boxer, it shouldn't be enough.

I would like people to be really honest and say if they genuinely believe Paulie has a good chance of beating Hatton. I, foe one don't. I don't think the money would be significantly better and Paulie has almost no interest outside NY (hence his fights being ESPN night shows only). Paulie is simply an easier fight. Nothing more, nothing less. What people are advocating is that given the choice between taking on an easier opponent or a difficult one for relatively the same money, the champion is right to take on the easier one.

Marv - you are right, but I would also love to see Paulie get sparked, and Hatton is the man who can do that as well.

Witter can't, because Paulie has already said he ain't interested in him.

Cool, Beeston. I just don't understand the tribalism of some fans. I love boxing and if a fighter I really like and admire is doing something I don't think is right, I will call them on it, not defend them to the point of saying things that just aren't true ("Paulie Malignaggi is a better fighter than Witter/deserves the shot more than Witter).

Are you going to tell me how many then, I really was genuinely asking?

Losing to him. If he doesnt fight Witter he always blame it on Witter being disrespectful and not a big draw.
