What would be the difference between a casual boxing fan and a hardcore one?

    A good way to find out if there a causal or a hardcore is to ask them what they think of Ezzard Charles. If they think he’s an overrated fraud you know your with a hardcore.

    Casual: thinks Ali is the greatest and isn’t sure who Joe Frazier is.

    Hardcore: drove in the blinding snow through the Maine woods to see Joey Gamache fight journeymen.

    Yeah that has gotten out of hand lol.

    Hardcores read boxing books, read stories about boxing, watch old school fights, actually order the PPV worthy fights (ahem), know boxing terms, has decent knowledge of weightclasses. Stuff like that.

    Like for instance I bet very few know why Ketchel died so young and how Harry Greb died. Or who dropped Kid Gavilan.

    Yeah the way he just stood there with Canelo Cotto Pac Marquez Manfredy Hernandez etc were real stinkers. :dunno

    Not every fight is awesome. Morales has been in some boring fights, Barrera has been in one of the worst fights I’ve ever seen Televised. You don’t like TBE, that’s all good though a lot don’t.

    Casuals know only top fighters and casually watch boxing.

    Then you have boxing fans who watch more, know more and there is levels in that.
    To the guys that know boxibg history to guys that watch every fight.

    I think a lot of people wont watch Floyds fights back for fun.
    Doesnt mean he isnt a great boxer of course. Some of Ali's fights sucked as well with the clinching. Or bhop who was grinding out wins sometimes rather than clinics.

    Especially to the women who ignore floyd over AJ since besides all his accomplishments and money he's still a 5 ft 7 skinny guy standing next to a big muscular famous guy.
