Suppose the unexpected happens and Tito beats Roy Jones in a:

    Boring fight

    Pretty decent fight

    Exciting slugfest???

b/c u asked two different questions.

Beating Roy, especially after such a long layoff would be a great name for his resume, but the real legacy builder would come in his next fight...against Hopkins

I think nothing. Roy is considered old and shot at this point. I don't think a win for either does much except expose the more shopworn fighter.

what if it was an exciting fight though? Would that put them back in the game or are they just too far gone??

IF RJ gets beat, he is going 2 retire. it probably would do somethin 4 titos resume, but people will kno that he didnt beat a prime RJJ. So i mean this fight is kind of a tuneup 4 both.

If Rj wins he has interest in fighting the winner of bernard vs calzaghe
Trinidad wins he probably wants to avenge his lost 2 Bernard. So we shall see

Personally i dont see Tito winning but if he does it would be a great name to have on your resume shot or not.

Seems like an eliminator so one can have one last big pay day to ride off into the sun set. Don't think it'll really add much since both are clearly no longer at a top flight level.

The way I see it is that the winner will have one more fight and then hang them up for good. Probably will end up fighting the winner of Hopkins-JC. IF Tito actually pulls this fight off and wins in an exciting slugfest I do actually believe it would help his ATG status. Albeit it would only help A LITTLE bit, like move him up 1-3 spots on peoples lists. It won't skyrocket him or anything. But if he were to go on and beat JC (yes I know I have a better chance of my dog winning the spelling bee) then we are talking serious ATG change in rankings. Thats if JC actually took that fight I would be shocked though. It would EXTREMELY low reward fight cause who would give him credit for much? :deal

I kind of see it like Berbick beating Ali to a degree. Not to that extreme, but along the same lines.

That would be an excellent farewell fight for DLH. And you know its gonna sell. could be bigger than DLH-Mayweather. I kinda wish this would happen.

that's why i'm rooting for Tito. There's nothing left for Jones to fight for after this fight win or lose..
