I know you know it JG, but that's why thy fight the fights. Fighters make mistakes. Guys get caught. All it takes is 1 well timed, well placed punch to turn a fight. That being said Froch just doesn't have the skill set to take a points win off Ward, which means he needs to hurt him bad and finish him to beat him, which means he needs Ward to make a mistake. It happens, even to the best of fighters. Odds are decidedly against IMO.

Say the Vegas odds were 10 to one, d, would you bet on Froch?

Froch can't beat Ward no matter what he does. He would need to face Ward at least a 100 times before he starts figuring him out. Froch should just move on like Marquez did from Floyd.

Yeah, I would. But not because I like my chances of winning. I got a bit of the riverboat gambler in me I guess. A bit of the dog too. 10-1 is a nice return on a small investment, which it would be.

Funny thing is, d, I interviewed hundreds of JMM fans waiting to be let in to JMM-Pac III. The Vegas odds before fight time favored Pac, eleven to one. (My grandma coulda got better odds against Pac)

Even though JMM's fans were enthusiastic, NOT ONE would put money on him, when I asked...always puzzled me.

Your grandma probably had better footwork.

But seriously. I don't usually gamble, but when I do, I find myself gravitating toward long odds. That happened to be 1 fight I actually did. I bet the draw. Almost got it too.....

Interesting question. I very much doubt he can do it, too predictable offensively and too static defensively.

However I would look at the rounds Ward dropped to him. They weren't many but they were there.

I was the same way. I mean look what happened. On my card he won around 8-9 rounds and they didn't give it to him.

I dont think he could improve to the point of beating Ward, he would have to develop a certain finesse and smoothness to his boxing that he will never have. He's far to clunky and forced to ever beat Ward.

He needs to hire a strength and conditioning coach and put non stop pressure for every second of the fight, because there is no way that Froch outboxes Ward. Maybe he will get a lucky punch in with the volume thrown.

Improve his patience and timing and jab and have a ref that doesn't let ward hit and hold like him and mayweather get away with.
