Can he win. Is this even worth mentioning. I believe he would need to do this in order for me to consider him The Greatest of All Time. He NEEDS to be an extreme underdog in a fight that everyone believes he has no chance of winning. He needs to be in a fight (that although crazy) is within the realm of reality. Sugar Ray Robinson started out as a lightweight (132lbs I believe) and beat one of the best lightweights of his era in Sammy Agnott. Then moved onto welterweight were he beat the likes Kid Gavilan, Fritzie Zivic, Henry Armstrong, and Tommy Bell. He then went on to middleweight where he beat the likes Jake LaMotta, Gene Fullmer, Carmen Bassilio, Rocky Graziano. He then went up to light heavyweight and fought the Joey Maxim and quit from heat exhaustion (even though he was winning the fight). If there were more divisions in that time, like super middle, junior welter, junior middle, Robinson would probably have won titles in 6-7 divisions. Robinson fought almost always bigger men and was the underdog in many fights. Mayweather needs Pavlik more than Cotto to be considered the greatest fighter of all time.
It would be very impressive if Floyd beat Pavlik but I just can not imagine it happening. If he did he could definatly put himself in the conversation for GOAT
it would be a boring fight. :tired Mayweather would have to focus completely on defense because he aint gonna hurt Pavlik and Pav could kill Floyd if he lands that straight right.
Pavlik weights 175 lb on the fight night, thats gonna be around 25 lb more than Mayweather Not counting the reach and height advantages, Pavlik is also a devastating puncher....this fight is impossible to win for little Floyd
