Anything can happen but if he were to beat Pavlik then it would call for an immediate rematch ... or move up in weight for Pavlik. Despite what they said about 170 ... I think Pavlik can handle the weight ... he didn't look any different ... he just got schooled by a crafty boxer.
Jermaine Taylor would crack a smile somewhere...lol But honestly, If Pavlik get's K.O.'d, then ****! happens. Like most I don't expect it, But it's defo something that can happen. (don't fool yourself Pavlik fan's, Anyone can get K.O.'d!)
Rubio is a freaking Tomato Can waiting to be KO'd by Pavlik. Apparently you didn't see him fight on the undercard of Pavlik/Hopkins or you would not have started this thread. I think Pavlik needs to work on several things to improve but wow, this really is a ridiculous question if you have any knowledge whatsoever.
Judging by some recent interviews, I think KP is going to box Rubio's ears off for a few rounds, and then knock him out. Kind of like the Pierre fight where Pav carried Pierre for a couple rounds, and then when Jack Leow said, "Okay, knock him out, " . . . BANG. On a serious note, if KP lost to any of the current crop of middleweights, he should seriously reconsider what he does for a living.
I think Pavlik steps in with 100% focus and does what he has to from the opening bell in this one. He is intent on making a statement.
The one thing that I would really like to see him work on is that long left hook. He used that punch a lot against Miranda. It starts out looking like a jab, and then he just hooks it at the last instant. He should fine tune that as preparation for Abraham. It's a good way to hook around that high guard while maintaining distance.
Rubio said he is going to knock KP out, and his over all tone seemed to indicate that he plans to go to war. Kelly has his weaknesses and flaws, but initiating a war of attrition sounds like a death wish!
