let's say in the near future that it's proven that margarito used illegal wraps in his fight with cotto and pac is caught using performance enhancers. What would this mean for cotto? his losses aren't legit?..use your dam imagination for this one
IF...and it's a big IF, this were to happen, the Margarito bout may be called a no contest, not to sure about the Pacquiao bout though. I'm only guessing here though.
I dunno if I can use my imagination Margarito: Wether he did or didn't use illegal wraps. Cotto got KDed from a few people, and doesn't have the greatest chin IMO. There's no way anybody takes the amount of punches Cotto did, and doesn't go down. Even people with GREAT chins would have went down to the beating that Margarito gave him. That is without wraps....There's no way somebody takes that much punishment. So, it's hard for me to visualize he needed wraps. Cotto was tired, beaten, and Margarito landed how many punches again? I'm guessing couple hundred at least. Pac: Steroids is a hard thing to measure. In training camp they could help you recover faster, get stronger, train harder, etc. When it comes to the ring though...You take punches just like everybody else. Most of the guys whom are big, musclebound (Jeff Lacy for instance- not saying he was on steroids, but this type of guy) actually suck most of the time. If somebody is on roids or not...You weigh the same as them, most fights are won by your mentality, experience, skills, and knowing what to do in the ring. I weigh about 180 and I could care less if a guy is taking roids or not. If I look across and he's a muscular 180, or a jacked 180 HE'S STILL 180!! I punch him in the face a few times, and bet it'll show some effect. Of course there is such a thing as "roid rage", but in the boxing ring I don't think that'll help you. Usually it hurts a fighter to lose his cool. Outside of the ring sometimes the same thing. You either pick them apart, or knock them out cold, and it doesn't really matter. Tough guys take tough ass kickings. So, even if these guys did cheat (I really doubt Pac, but Marg is a possibility) he still lost. Pac beat him with speed, Marg beat him with will.
Even if it was proven, he may have no official losses on his record, but the damage he took in those two fight still exists. Mentally he will still not be the same as he was pre-Margarito. Of course this is all speculation. Although I believe that Margarito cheated against Cotto it can't ever be proven unless Margarito admits it. There is also no evidence whatsoever that Pac had been roiding or using "a-side meff".
when i say the losses won't count,i'm not saying record wise but to the fans because those two losses have everyone saying he's shot
If they cheated he still lost?! :huh Marg (if proven dirty) should've never been able to grind Cotto down in the manner that he did. Pac (if proven dirty) should've never had the speed, stamina OR power to do what he did.
Regardless of your opinion of his skill. He's shot. He's not fighting the same way and his chin isn't the same either. His skills (whether you think he had good or not) are diminishing.
Then it would be really sad that one of this generations best fighters was beaten and mentally destroyed by two cheaters
Mosley passed the post-fight drug test in the DLH rematch. He later admitted to using steroids and EPO but the NSAC did not change it to a no-contest. If Pacquiao is on something then it probably is also something that isn't tested for (or leaves his body quickly as boxing doesn't test in training). It would be inconsistent with their previous actions to change it to a no-contest if Pacquiao later was found it to have been on something. Maybe they would though this time, to try to look better.
