What would happen to boxing if Sullivan retired undefeated?

Whether that’s after Kilrain or he lands a lucky punch on Corbett, how does boxing’s history change? Apparently there was a bit of a “dark age” after Sullivan lost and retired since his meteoric popularity wouldn’t be repeated until Dempsey. Would the sport have gotten even bigger? Would Sullivan’s legacy ever be topped?
