From the start, in my opinion Jr would have KOed Sergio, but in a classic fight, Sergio had a great gameplan and followed it until the last round, he can't bang with Jr his chin isn't that great But props to both great fight and even greater round12
Jr. wasn't smart enough or skilled enough to force Martinez into a brawl. A smart pressure fighter usually makes a smaller faster opponent have "micro-brawls" within the first half of the fight, all the while putting in work and slowly damaging their opponent during these opportunities and exchanges. Jr. didn't do ****, so Sergio kept all his air until the last round.
If Chavez was good enough to impose his will on Martinez and force him into that type of fight, maybe we'd have found out.
There is a reason Chavez didn't/couldn't just walkthrough Martinez shots, and there's a reason Martinez was backing him up. He certainly respected Martinez power.
:deal some parts of the fight instead of chavez backing up Martinez it was Martinez backing up Chavez
couldve, wouldve, shouldve, chavez jr. is not good enough to force the fight into a brawl so stop with the what ifs :hat
Sergio isn't stupid, no boxer with at least some intelligence brawls with a guy who outweighs him by 10-20 lbs
