    Just saw this thread.

With maniacs Hitler and Stalin running around loose, war was inevitable. Germany without the evil of NAZI-ism might have taken longer to rebuild, but they would have eventually. Once the Great Depression finally ends more wealthy countries with sizable poor immigrant populations would probably provide more fodder for the prize ring. No doubt a certain small percentage of young men who were actually killed in WW2 would've taken up boxing had they lived instead. Might have been more European and non-European heavyweights pursuing pro careers after successful Olympics in the 1940s. Who knows?

Bivens is one Louis missed because of the war. Bivens was a very good technician in the ring. I doubt he lasts 7 rounds with Joe during the war years.

Nothing would have happened. Murica would have dominated boxing above certain weights, just as it always had, until the Latino fighters came along and took over the lower weights, and Lennox, plus the K2 brothers took over the Muricans " glamour " division.

The question is, will they ever be able to reclaim it?
