In your view, short of beating him, what would a boxer, Haye or Povetkin for example, have to do to be ranked above Vitali?
If he beats another two top contenders I'd put him above Vitali based purely on Vitali's weak recent opposition. Right now he is below Vitali and justifiably so. and the gap between the two is closing by the day.
Haye; Barrett TKO5 Valuev MD12 Ruiz TKO9 Harrison TKO3 Wlad L 12 Chisora TKO5 Vitali; Peter RTD8 Gomez TKO9 Arreola RTD10 Johnson UD12 Sosnowski KO10 Briggs UD12 Solis KO1 Adamek TKO10 Chisora UD12
Another solid post. I agree. Haye should be ranked 3rd under Vitali, but the two should fight it out to decide the ever-shrinking gap.
These first 4 Vitali fights all came in a 13 month period when Haye was finding his feet in the division. Vitali's competition is superior but not by much. If this were a comparison to Wlad's opponents it would be obvious but with Vitali it's alot closer.
Absolutely, im with you. Haye has the ability to beat Vialit but shouldn't be ranked above him till they fight or till Haye blows out some of the other contenders. Vitali being such a badass, kinda deserves that respect.

Not a bad ranking, I'd have Briggs above Barrett though and Chisora TKO5 above Solis. It really was an outstanding performance. If Solis didn't **** his leg up and Vitali beat him legitimatey, he would probably be my #1.

This is how I would rank their victories, vitali in yellow, haye in blue. I know Valuev wasn't very good, but his size made him difficult to beat and I don't think we can overlook the fact that he was a world champion. So based on this list, so in my opinion, Haye would need a victory against Povetkin/adamek/Fury/Pulev. Or two victories against opponents of Arreola's level or above.
