Tyson by KO in about 8 or 9 rounds. He was just so explosive and fast moving in. He could take Larry`s leverage away. Get under that jab and catch Holmes eventually.

I think Tyson would take some punishment in this one though.

I like Holmes by decision myself, but wouldn't be surprised if he had to overcome a knockdown or two along the way. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if he did not have to do that, ether.

Holmes would win every round and make Tyson look like a fool.

Holmes boxes Tyson well for the first 6, while Tyson very limited success. Throughout the next 3 or 4 I see Tyson getting past the jab and landing some bombs on the inside and dropping Holmes in the 10th. Larry gets up and survives, but is a sitting duck next round for Mike to take him out in the 11th whilst fairly even on the cards.

And Tyson showed power this late when?

If you lasted past 5 with Mike chances are you would last the distance. I can only think of Ribalta,Ferguson and Neilson that he stopped after the fifth off hand which suggests to me his power didn't last late unlike someone like a Tua who was dangerous to the very end.

Remember his bores with Tucker and Bonecrusher where they lasted the early onslaught and turned the fight into clinch fests were Tyson really looked to have run out of ideas for a KO by the end. I reckon this is how this would play out except Holmes would survive the early bombardment and constantly jab and land right hands against an ever slowing Tyson until Mike eventually crumbles late.

    Holmes TKO12.

I'd say 65/35 in favour of Holmes. Tyson would have plenty of moments, even flooring Holmes somewhere along the line, but as soon as Tyson realises that although he can hurt Larry but not put him away,he gets discouraged. Holmes then jabs Mike's head off and forces a late round stoppage.

A quicker victory over a PRIME Holmes than he accomplished over a 38 year old ring rusty one ?????

Even in his prime, Tyson could be outboxed. It just so happens that the fighters he fought couldn't sustain the paice and handle the punishment. Holmes was one of the smartest fighters to have ever fought and had great recuperative powers. I see him outboxing Mike and frustrating him to a decision.

Well you wrote it in large text and used emoticons so it must be fact then.

Other than that this is probably the most useless post ever in the long history of useless posts on this forum.

Holmes would be on his bike straight away. Early rounds would be close, and split. Holmes would be boxing off the back foot, pumping the jab and tying Tyson up as soon as he got close. Holmes would also attempt the odd uppercut with bad intentions. He would plant his feet on occasion, due to the NEED to get Tyson's respect lest he be walked thru. Holmes would be hurt one to three times during the early and mid rounds. He might even go down tho i wouldn't bet on it due to respecting his opponent so much.

By round 6 the fight would ease into a predictable groove, Tyson somewhat frustrated but ebbing forward, Holmes jabbing and throwing hard punching whenever Tyson got in on him then wrapping his man up.

Tyson would slow and tire a bit (mentally as well as physically) by round 8 or 9. Holmes would have the obvious upper hand by this point and Tyson's attempts would become both predictable and less dangerous to the in the groove Holmes.

Tyson would probably go the distance over 12 and lose by a couple of rounds. Over 15 Holmes may stop him, or win something like a 9-6 decision.
