If he started training around 5 years old like so many boxing greats? 20 years old is one of the latest starts in boxing considering how much he has achieved. Imagine a Sergio with 150 Am fights, going to the Olympics etc, having a guided career starting around age 22. What do you think, ESB?
Well, he could actually never become GOAT, as this era would not allow him to hang with Armstrong, Greb etc. but he would be Top 10 all time.
Is hard to say- all the sports Golovkin did when he was younger probably made him a better athlete but taking up boxing at 5 would have made him a better boxer so he may have been more similar style to say Hopkins than Jones Jr
He would be a 3 weight world champion at least, would have had a chance to have the big money fights with guys like Mayweather and Pacquiao and would have gone down as an all time great
His skills are already extra-ordinary as they are at 37 years old.... its really difficult to imagine what could have become starting 10 years earlier.... Some would say there wouldn't be much difference, but i think that there would be a significative one. The Maravilla beyond Maravilla.
Makes you wonder. He is a helluva boxer right now even with the late start. I'd say he would have at least had a few more titles in multiple weight classes.
He wouldve been shot earlier. The only reason he had so much success in his late 30s is that he started Boxing late. His body didnt take punishment until he was a fully grown adult.
