Let's say Tommy comes up around the same time as Rock.
Morrison somehow finds himself unbeaten, as he was before Mercer, and rather than Rocky fighting Don Cockell, he meets Morrison.
Now I'm going out on a limb and saying

    MARCIANO KO 8 MORRISON.

It would be a brutal fight that could arguably be fought in a phone booth. Lots of hard punches exchanged. I‘d like to think Rocky would win but he’d have to take some bloody hard shots before it happened unless he could get Tommy out of there early.

The guy obliterated by Michael Bentt versus the tough as nails guy who smashed everyone he fought?

Damn that *IS* a head scratcher.

I actually give the Tommy Morrison of Ray Mercer fight the best chance of winning.
Tommy jumped on Mercer early on and wasted a lot of energy trying to knock him out....bad mistake.
But against Marciano??? I think if Morrison started fast, he could beat the crap out of the slow starter Rocky.
I will go with Rocky by a late TKO for now, but this is winnable fight for this version of the duke.

I get you, truly I do. But to be fair to Morrison, when he faced Bentt, I honestly think he took him very lightly. He was up for the Ruddock and Lewis fights, he knew what was coming.
But Bentt.? Who the hell had heard of him.
Maybe, just maybe, that's why he walks in and gets knocked on his butt.

I see it ex like that. Not an easy night for Rocky at all. I think he wins but comes thru a war to get there.

I know the roid thing is played out but the Duke without roids has twig legs and arms, of he's coming up in the 50s...well Rex Layne all over again.

If Morrison comes in roided up, he still boxes well until he makes a stupid mistake and gets caught...then he's falling all over the ring and Rocky smells blood. End.

One is bigger, stronger, faster, quicker, more agile, etc. and the other is Marciano. Morrison by early knockout and I never thought Morrison was a top fighter. If you take Morrison off the "supplements", I have no idea, but just as they were when they were fighting, Morrison would roll over the slow moving, clumsy Marciano in one of his easiest fights. How can anybody look at these two on video and think that RM who is slow, outweighed by 40 pounds, and clumsy could defeat a fast handed, hard hitting fighter like Morrison?

Tommy would be by far the biggest puncher Rocky faced and he looked great early against Mercer before nearly being killed lol. He has a chance early but still think Rocky survives an early storm and takes him out more durable, consistent and could maintain a pace Tommy wouldn't be able to handle. Also take into account Tommy took p.e.ds his whole career that Rocky didn't have access too.

    IMHO:

With Tommy's normal way of fighting, Rocky would set a relentless pace. Tommy would gas by the middle rounds. Then Rocky would end it in the middle rounds 5-7.

If Tommy pulled a Mercer on him and attacked early, Rocky would weather the storm and Tommy would gas sooner. Rocky would end it in the early rounds 3-4.

If Tommy pulled a Foreman and tried boxing Rocky and walking away, Rocky would be all over him. Rocky would end it in the very early rounds 1-2.

There was nothing to indicate Marciano couldn't take the punches of a younger bigger more modern fighter. Just because he was down against two 38yo's doesn't mean he'd be down against Morrison.

Show the man some respect pal.....................
