Marciano cannot take Morrison's best shots.
Morrison takes him out with ease. Like I already said, Marciano wouldn't even be a contender in the 90s

He only fought one of the top heavyweights of his era.

There are men like Mercer and Bentt and Purity in every era.

That is entirely the wrong way of looking at it.

Marciano might or might not be able to take Morrison's best shots.

We know for damn sure that Morrison couldn't take Marciano's best shots!

I never said you did, and for the most part I agree with you. When it comes to wars of attrition I think the 90s fighters would mostly beat the 50s fighters.

There is no way of saying who takes who's best shots, but Marciano could take a guy out fast, and Morrison would be easy to do that with. He was prone to exposing himself even when he wasn't tired and he mentally quit once he was hurt or floored most of the time. Morrison couldn't handle the kind of relentlessness Marciano would apply on him.

Marciano ain't got the speed to bother Morrison

    I am aware of this.

You might argue that he was unlucky to share an era with Lewis, but I don't think you can argue that he was unlucky to share an era with Mercer or Old Foreman.

That would be the triumph of hope over experience.

Morrison was not bothered by speed imo on the grounds that he was fast himself. Rather, chin, stamina, and mental durability were his only weaknesses.

sure there were, name the 230 pound Olympic Gold Medalist that Marciano fought, or the 225 pound NY Golden Glove champion that Marciano fought, or the strong, durable 245 pounder like Purity that Marciano fought. Mercer, Bentt, and Purity are much bigger, stronger, and athletic than anybody RM shared a ring with. RM came along at the right time for him, for whatever reason there was little or no talent in the heavyweight division. He was the best of his time, but as White Bomber has mentioned, he couldn't compete in later eras.

I don't consider Morrison a great fighter, but his speed, and power would steam roll RM in about a round. RM, after fighting small, slow, old men wouldn't know what hit him.

Neither is Marciano's chin great against a puncher like Morrison. RM was there to be hit, and he got hit a lot.
Mental durability (or the lack of it) will not matter when Marciano doesn't posses the tools to bother Morrison.

Morrison would be favored to beat every man on Marciano's record.

I don't think Morrison would be the best HW of the 90s, far from it (though he could have been more professional and thus better).
But I believe that even the level he achieved was more than enough to have a good chance of beating anyone in the 50s.

The guys who hit Morrison had way more punching power than those who hit Marciano.
This idea that Morrison had a glass jaw is very dumb and not backed by much.
