What would Usyk need to do to get inside your top 10 all time heavyweight list?

I'm a Larry Holmes fan for sure and I agree with pretty much everything you said. There are some big differences between Holmes and Uysk's career paths for sure. Holmes turned pro early and cut his teeth as a sparring partner and had a long grind to the title where Uysk built his skills and rep as an amateur and was fighting for world titles in the pros by his 9th fight. Both are ATG's and true champions that were built very differently.

 

Hes already in after Fury. Hes ninth in my list.

Nice list, but I got to say, I'm the biggest Marciano nut on here and even I have Louis above him.

Love them both though. I essentially have Ali and Louis tied at #1 and Marciano and Lewis tied at #2.

 

Lewis could be in the three best ever but he proved to be not professional when he lost to McCall and Rahman even if he avenged all. A champion gotta be always disciplined and concentrated when he faces any fighter. For the rest he stays for sure in the top 5 ever imo.

 

Foreman didn't avenge anything, only won a handful of title fights, and lost to Jimmy Young. But there he is above Lewis.

 

Nothing, he’s already beat the best in the division, to get in the top 5 though he’d need to beat some contenders, like Dubois, Zhang, Parker etc to prove he can do it against all styles, I already picked Parker to beat him due to styles, but that doesn’t change his current atg ranking because he already beat the current proven best in the division.

Damn, this thread is a pretty fun read actually. Been a while since I made a HW top 10 but I'd probably include Usyk right now as it stands. Beating Parker, Opetaia (when he moves up), and either Jalolov or Kabayel would help his ranking substantially though imo.

 

I don't believe he can for multiple reasons. It's too weak of an era for one. The level of competition is just not available. Wins over Fury and Joshua are nice, sure. But neither are all time greats. Beyond that, Usyk is just too old and he doesn't fight nearly enough. He's only had six fights at heavyweight in his career.

But that's okay, though. Usyk's greatness is cemented for what he accomplished at cruiserweight. Unifying at heavyweight is just the cherry on top. I've never understood why cruiserweight was always the redheaded step child of boxing divisions.

That's ****ing rich. Dubois did significantly worse than both Joshua and Fury against Usyk and is the only one out of the three who failed to go the distance. I can't wait for you to backtrack when Joshua beats Dubois in September.

I imagine you'll try to quietly sneak off the bandwagon, like you did when you ran around this forum saying Joshua was the best H2H fighter of all time, only for him to lose to Ruiz.

 

He can't do it for me now personally
He's too old, plus there's no one really out there that is out standing enough for him to beat.
Still an excellent fighter of course.
