Open your other eye for a just second. Where would it leave Usyk if he loses to the Fury who performed so badly against Ngannou and who you rate so lowly???
I will say I told you so. I do not like Tyson Fury one bit, but I think he will win with relative ease.
Fury looks to be in the best shape of his life, both mentally and physically. No outcome would surprise me in this fight. I don’t think Fury is that much better than Joshua, and because of that, together with the fact that nothing fazes Usyk, I believe it is highly unlikely Fury “destroys” him.
19 months difference. In their 20 or early 30s, that make no difference, but your mid 30s, even 1 year is a huge advantage. It's also about style. As Usyk style is all due to age related, speed, reflexes, stamina, footwork, everything is foot related. While being and Ogre, aka Fury size doesn't goes away with age, which is his biggest advantage. Usyk is giving everything up, and still going to slap the Ogre around. So this thread is useless.
Anything can happen in heavyweight boxing, so Usyk can lose to Fury. I wouldn't think any less of him if he did. You can't win them all. Even if he lost to Fury it still wouldn't mean Fury is the better boxer or the better champion. It would only mean Fury was better on the night. Nobody thinks Norton was better than Ali even though Norton arguably beat him all three times.
Context is everything. Wilder has always been a poor fighter, and Parker merely exposed this truth. I anticipate Zhang will do the same. Since his loss to Povetkin, Whyte has not been the same fighter. His susceptibility to uppercuts and diminished punch resistance are evident. Victories over fighters like Wilder and Whyte have inflated Fury's reputation, and this will be very clear on Saturday. I believe many will be surprised by Usyk's dominance and suspect something is wrong with Fury. However, it will simply be a matter of the considerable difference in their levels of boxing skill being on full display.
This fight is way more significant than that and the result will be taken way more literally. This one is for all the belts, all the chips and all the bragging rights.
It would be a great win over the best cruiser since holy. No doubt people would start saying Usyk was old or shop worn or whatever but he knocked out a young strong fighter in his last fight despite having a couple of problems. He's not lost in years. Would give Fury some depth at Heavy people rightly criticise his defences as Champion but as a boxer wins over: Wlad Wilder Whyte ( I understand some of the stick he gets but he deserved a shot - he'd beaten most of the 2nd tier fighters out there around 2018) Usyk (should he get there) and then say Joshua (again if he wins) With all the highs and lows of his career, it would be a decent end to it and one he could be rightly proud of. I should just add if Usyk win and wins well Fury wont be looked on as dominant fighters anymore in reality or H2H matches. Fury really needs to erase the Ngannu farce.
I root for Usyk, but I see Fury having a decent chance at winning. Just not via destruction... Joshua hits like a truck and he didn't do anything to Usyk over 24 rounds. Hurt him once in the 10th round of the second fight and how did that work out for him in the very next round? W/L/D this has decision written all over it. If Fury wins it will likely involve a lot of leaning, ugly wrestling and punching in a clinch rather than destruction lol
