I agree with you, apart from the Area and Commonwealth titles. Most fighters get a lot of pride out of winning an Area title (plus there's a lot of history with those belts), and although we pretty much disregard the Commonwealth title, it's still a pretty big title in other countries.

I don't think we need area and English/Celtic/Scottish etc.

Get rid of those instead, either way there's too many.

Oh, and those stupid ''Masters'' titles.

    :good

Keep the Area and English/Scottish/Celtic titles, get rid of Masters titles :good

Some fighters may not have the ability to get a British title, but these 'lesser' titles are something for them to aspire towards. Plus, they're pretty important for small hall shows that have no TV coverage, as a title on the line is a selling point for paying fans.

And if the BBBC pulled their finger out, then these titles could become more important in the ranking of fighters and could be used as a natural stepping stone towards the British title.

BBBC to bring out monthly rankings and generally get its act together whilst it doesnt do a bad job it could certainly do a much better one imo

Kos makes the point above about the area titles i think that is a brilliant idea to bring back some prestigeto the belt and the BBBC could do this by being more transparent and incentivising fighters with rankings rather than every month nominating mandatorys here and there

    Another couple......

No more of these cheap imports - it's embarrassing

Weed out the journeymen that don't compete - again, nobody benefits from that kinda thing

I would keep the area titles but merge the northern and midland regional areas and just have the southern area and northern area in England. That way you could get rid of the English title as well.

Not arsed about the Commonwealth title - its massively gone down the pan.

I would keep the EU and EE title - mainly because from an Irish perspective its a big gap from the Irish title to EBU level. The same goes from other smaller Euro nations.

Scrap all the international/intercontental etc etc.......

...........Actually fúck it, why not go the whole hog and ask for a Universal governing organisation like FIFA??

    One more.....

Fighters that are in consistently boring fights not shown on TV any more - it's entertainment after all

Sky to stop doing deals with promoters

Sky to force fights - x vs y or no TV money regardless of politics

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

As it is the tail seems to wag the dog. Sky have a free reign (pretty much) to do as it likes..... they should wield that power for their benefit and that of the fans.

I'd settle for decent undercards on so-called "big fight" promotions.

Keep the Area titles its good for a certain level of fighter to have something to realistically aim for.

Maybe not a great day for holding FIFA up as an organisational model as the English on here are moaning like a bunch of menstral females after finding out they were about as popular on the world stage as a bout of pancreatitis in a cat farm! :good

FIFA is like the Womens Institute in comparison to the jungle warfare that is boxing sanctioning organisations.

Firstly it would mean instead of having 1 or 2 world class fighters in each division, we'd have 3 or 4. This would give more credibility to the champions in each division, and there would be way fewer paper champs. Also it might stop fighters constantly moving up to get the big fights and create a bit of stability that would benefit the sport too.

As an example, think how good the welterweight division would be if there was no LWW. Khan, Maidana, Bradley and Alexander all fighting guys like Floyd, Pac and Mosley. Thats just one example of how removing weight divisions would make the sport way more exciting

On top of this, no one can say it is unfeasible- since no one in the amatuers complain that there are too few divisions
