Speed ... you can always imporve on your power w/ dedication to your punches and training.

You can't teach speed ... and plus with the right punches you can get rid of an opponent no matter how much power you have. Overwhelming an opponent with alot of punches ... beating your opponent to the punch ... body punchinig ... flush shots to the jaw or chin ...

That's easy. POWER. Speed does equal power, but think about it...Which one is easier to get through training (we aren't talking natural here)? They say most punches are born, which is somewhat true. If you have power you can always practice tecnique, better conditioning, and get more speed. If you have speed then it's very hard to acheive power unless it's through a lot of weight lifting (which if not done properly is going to slow you down).

Besides, let's look at real boxers for example. Ali...One of the greatest of all time, he had plenty of speed, but not that much power. LOOK AT HIM NOW! Of course his run in boxing was overstayed, but your not made to get hit that much. Even if Ali did win, and pick his opponents apart, look how many times he got hit after 12 rounds. Now, look at Mike Tyson whom used his power. He'd knock plenty of guys out 1st round, and wouldn't get hit but a few times.
So, you could be quick, win the fight on points, and get hit A TON. or....Be powerful, win most fights by KO, and take a lot less hits. Trust me, power is more important...Your brain would thank you for it.

When you say speed do you mean hand speed? In this case speed = power. The grater vloicity the grater the impact. If you mean foot speed how fast can I run than I would chose to have power over speed. I would rather be acused of having landed a lucky punch than being a runner even if bother or neather were true. If speed means body speed or agility I would rather have speed. I think the ability to stay within punching range of an oppoent and make him miss is one of if not the most amazing things that can be done in any sport not just boxing.

    devastating power

make up for lack of speed with craft and skills (if that's an option)
    more entertaining to the public
more useful when someone steps up to me in a bar
i can fight and be dangerous in my 40's as opposed to peaking in my 30's

    Speed kills.

Through timing and "disguising" your punches, you can increase the effectiveness of your punch anyway. So, IMO, speed (with good timing) more than makes up for power. The major drawback with lacking power is that it is more difficult to keep fighters off you, but if you're skilled enough, you should be able to outpoint your opponent towards a victory

Mayweather, Hatton and DLH make the most money in boxing.

    Hardly KO merchants, are they?

You chose some terrible examples. Roy Jones had some massive power at his lower weights. And Pacquiao has blistering speed.

I would rather have speed FWIW.
