What kind of stupid question is this?

If you have granite chin, you end up with parkinsons when you retire from absorbing so much punches, instead of going down.

A powerful punch is like a all or nothing hail mary. It is either you lose spectacularly or win spectacularly.

Powerful punchers also get more money because people want to wacth slugfest, except of course in ESB where they think that PILLOWFIGHT is the epitome of boxing.

Oh yes, this is why LaMotta, Chuvalo, Hagler, Leonard, McCullough, Duran, Cobb, and De La Hoya all sound like blithering idiots when they speak and Glass Jawed fighters like Tommy Hearns and Unca Raja sound like professors.:patsch

Some guys get punch drunk from an accumulation of punches, some end up that way from getting savagely KOed. End of.

Granite chin all day long. You have to be able to give and take shots. I wouldn't want to be a fighter who can give punishment but can't take it.

it'd be cool to take shots and just smile back at people Jim Braddock/Carl Froch style.

But lets face it, in the end, it wouldnt do you any good healthwise in the long run. I'd rather be able to KO people fast so I dont get hit much.

You'd get hit a lot anyway, mind you, once you start facing good opps.

On this topic, I wonder what it is that makes up a granite chin? Strong neck muscles combined with absolute lack of dizziness/vertigo. Attitude and willpower too? Some physical difference in the brain itself that just ignores the pain or the momentary senselessness - are these people wired differently to the rest of us?
