He doesn't need top rank, but he's loyal to top rank. I can respect that to a point. He's big enough to do his own thing but won't, as a fan it's frustrating Pacquiao is loyal to a point it hurts him.

correct. 99% of the boxers in the world have a promoter. it's not unusual. Why does it concern you so much Walk With Me? Because it concerns Mayweather?

People really need to take a sober view of things and not let their opinions be dictated by their heroes actions. I like(d) both fighters, but if Pac was the A-Side and telling Floyd he had to re-sign with Arum I would think he was either:
    A) completely insane
    or
    B) blocking the fight.

And I'm impartial, but rapidly getting tired of Floyd's logic. I can't believe we the fans are going to lose May/Pac and Canelo/Cotto because of one man. He seems to have no regard for the fans, so their dogged loyalty confounds me.

And I answered 'Free Agent', before you accuse me of liking Bob or whatever nonsense.

he absolutely does. Fought Floyd (haymon), Pacquiao (Arum), Sergio Martinez (Lou Dibella), Canelo (GBP).

Cotto can do whatever he wants. Even more so than floyd mayweather.

He's just another egomaniac. That's all.
Ever wonder why big fights fall apart? More often than not it is ego dressed up as something else.

so you don't think cotto is the 3rd biggest fighter in the sport? Who has earned the right to call the shots like pacquiao & floyd?

Bob Arum has never cheated Pac like some of his older promoters did. I say stay with Arum. Loyalty is also important

personally, i would say Klitschko is, if we are judging it by ticket sales and TV viewing audience, but that's not what this thread is about.

This is a petty argument anyway. For the record, I personally prefer the idea of Pacquiao being his own promoter, but that's his prerogative. None of our business. Refusing to do business with a large promotional company like Top Rank is negative for the sport politically. That should be obvious to anyone but the most blinkered.

forget klitschko lol. Yeah he probably is one of the biggest fighters in the sport but its irrelevant because he has no opponents and is only worth while in russia.

in the states it goes Floyd > pacquiao > Cotto >>>>>>>>>> Canelo etc, etc

I will give arum props for making pacquiao who he is. With out Arums creativity in managing pacs career pac would be nothing but every child grows into a man and I think by this time Pac is big enough to stand on his own two.

Just like Cotto made the decision to step away.

what benefit do we get as fans for him staying with TR? i mean, Rios, algieri and posibly vargas is not quite a powerhouse line of fights.

why not be a free agent?

He definitely needs to leave and control his own career. Make MP Promotions mean something

Oscar definitely don't tell Floyd what he can and can't do, co promoter or not. Arum however owns Manny like a slave!
