What would you say anthony joshuas short coming are

He loses his composure when he's hit hard or feels vulnerable/has pressure actually coming back on him. That's one of my biggest things I've noticed. He doesn't throw back effectively, he kind of panics around the ring trying his best not to get hit. But that's just something that you learn with experience I guess.

Wlad used to do the same thing and it got him stopped 3 times. But he learnt from it, to the point where even after AJ dropped him the first time he came back to completely dominate the round.

 

Hopefully they are nothing like the shorts of Ian Lewison. The Joe Joyce fight still gives me nightmares.

Him saying blacks are a superior race. Has he seen Africa ? How embarrassing.

 

needs more relaxation in the ring
dont load up on his right hand / just let it flow and mix up the power on the shots

its hard because he is still a novice of only 20 figths and has big crowds urging him on all the time so its in his head to try to impress. this burns nevous energy and muscle energy.

its only expeireance that will solve these 2 issues and when or if he does his stamina will increase markedly.

as brighton bomber pointed out he leaves his right hand out there too long when he throws it as a lead from range and is open to be counterd

does not have a grade a chin/his height and size can mask it to an extent but with his aggressive style he will get caught.

is not patient enough to dominate behind the jab and wait for oppoenents mistakes instead he iniates too much on offense.

his lead right hand is too telegraphed and thrown too much in hope rather than placed with percisission

needs at least 3 figths a year to stave of ring rust / with his zeal for training it will keep him more motivated if you went top 10 then a tp[ 20 then top 10 then top 20 etc etc.

 

You mean he went life and death with 41 year old shot Wlad ? And old man looked faster and more fluid than AJ, not sure if that is an indication of complete fighter, imo AJ is flatfooted ,robotic stiff on roids with weak chin and decent power, that’s it. Wlad from 5 years ago would have finished AJ pretty easily.

Back on topic, for me the biggest thing about AJ is that he has no poker face when he's hurt. He just kind of looks bewildered...half smiles...and freezes up. Reminds me a little bit the way Bruno used to react when hit.

AJ's chin is definitely dentable, but he seems to have good powers of recovery after a round or two.

 

His Chin is Vulnerable...

 

Too big and bulky will drain energy in a long fight .Chin is suspect Possibly.don't know if he has enough Devil .

 

far be it for me to comment on the HW champ, but he does seem to gass more than you'd expect. Happened twice against 42 year old Wlad, which isnt a great advert for your lungevity.

AJ has quick hands when he's allowed to punch with nothing coming back and he's technically sound.

But, he's stiff, predictable and has next to no natural rhythm......plus I think his power whilst top drawer is vastly overated.

 

He needs to work on not punching his opponents after bell because It's dangerous but that's typical from a former drug dealer

 

Stamina. But just as much as you can point to that as a negative in the Wlad fight, well, you can also point to it as a positive.
