What would you say the average age a fighter is when he becomes shot?

Out of all the fighters who left their primes and then became shot later on in their careers.

What would you say the average age is for them to become shot or quite past their prime?

Back in the day, a lot of guys were done by their early thirties, especially little guys. Today, I was watching Gaspar Ortega vs Florentino Fernandez and Ortega was 23 with 68 fights and Fernandez was 20 with 20 fights. Bigger guys, then as now tended to fight less and last longer. Heavyweights were still done by 40. It also depends on your fighting style. Brawlers have a shorter shelf life than outside boxers. Dempsey, Frazier, and Tyson were done by 30 whereas Ali, Holmes, and Klitschko stretched their careers out a little longer. If you are a hard drinker who likes to do cocaine, like Pernell Whitaker then even the most defensive style won't save your body from betraying you. He was out of there earlier than he should have been. Lastly, I'm pretty sure that the only reason we see champs hanging on to titles into their late 30s is modern drugs, and it doesn't hurt that modern guys fight less.

Without roids, around 35 or 36. With roids, these guys are fighting into their 40s and 50s.

Personally think it goes on how many 'hard' fights you're in rather than age

Mid 30's it is... Wich also is the moment the body of the average male is starting rapid decline. Of course there are exceptions, but beyond 40 it comes down to hard work, medication.

It depends on the style and punishment. There are quite a few guys fresh into their late 30's and others that have gotten old literally in one fight. The minimum weight guys I'd say mid twenties they're shot, heavyweights don't usually even peak these days until about 33. :think

Growth Hormone changed the game in all sports, before that by mid thirties an athlete was on decline.

Around here?? That'd be when he's your favorite fighter and he loses to someone you don't like...automatic shotness right there, the medical world remained baffled by it.

Around 40 in most cases from around LWW and upwards most become 'shot' The lower weights seem not to last so long, probably around 35.

Only a very select few can adjust to still be competitive on a high level beyond these ages due to being highly skilled technitions.

Around 36. Unless you partake in TRT then you can keep your physical prime right past 38.
