What would you think of Wlad if he fights Arreola instead of Haye?

...and then you can also factor in Cedric Kushner who had a piece of the fight that never was, suing the Finkel for running away and going with Brock. Finkel cut him a 6 figure check. That's quite a chunk of change, for what again exactly...??? So he wouldn't lose his ass in court.

...but Chef thinks that makes Briggs look bad somehow.

Steward never said that Briggs was "TOO DANGEROUS". Steward said that Briggs was very dangerous. In many interviews he he said very dangerous, but only for a few rounds. Pretty big difference. You guys are now making it seem like Manny Steward hurried to halt that fight from taking place and then publically said that Briggs was TOO dangerous for Wald to fight. Get over it guys... Manny also said that Castillo, and Ray Austin were very dangerous opponents. What the hell is the point? Steward ALWAYS hypes up possible opponents.

The Briggs fight never happened because the Brock fight happened. So, Briggs fought Lyachovich and then lost his first title defense against Ibragimov. Had Briggs beat Ibragimov, then the showdown with Klitschko would have actually made sense. Which is why after Iggy boxed Briggs' ears off Wlad fought him.... and boxed his ears off.

it doesn't make a difference to me. haye, arreola, povetkin, or chagaev if he wasn't injured so much i think would all have a chance. are they better than the klits? no, is buster douglas a better fighter than tyson or is iran barkley considered better than tommy hearns? **** no. people need to stop hating on these guys they're not bums, even though arreola reminds me of homer simpson with boxing trunks. if wlad takes on arreola then so be it, take care of business, and see how far Arreola can go. but let's no **** around the bush, hayes should be at the front of the line, even though i think he should of had at least 2 more fights at heavy.

as much as i like Briggs, the guys best days are gone. the man has not proved anything as of late, why he's even mentioned as a candidate for the klits is a waste of time. i'd rather see him fight peter or hayes in fights i think he'd both lose.

Most trainers are going to say a potential opponent is dangerous. Too dangerous for the champ though? Steward would have to be brain damaged to say that or perhaps a slip. He isn't the most eloquent guy on the HBO broadcasts.

If Finkel would have lost his ass in court... why did they take the extremely small settlement (in comparison) rather than the very large figure that they were suing for?

**** like this happens all of the time. Just because Finkel paid Kushner money in order to not waste time and money in court doesn't mean that Wlad was ducking Briggs. That's nonsense.

Tell me this... if Wlad's intention was to duck Briggs..... why the hell would they have even bothered negotiating with him?:huh It isn't as if they had to negotiate with Briggs who wasn't a mandatory challenger. Also, your entire stance is that they USED Briggs name in order to secure Madison Square Garden. Even if that were true... that isn't the same as ducking someone is it? That is called being a crafty business man.

Also, on Finkel's contract with the Garden, it said Wladimir Klitschko vs Shannon Briggs OR ANOTHER SUITABLE OPPONENT. Wlad was also in negotiations with Brock as well as a possible unification fight with Maskaev. I would think that obviously Briggs would be the odd man out in that scenario. If Wlad lands the unification fight, or the fight against the undefeated top contender in Calvin Brock... it makes much more sense than Wlad vs Briggs. When they were waiting for Maskaev to agree to a fight with Wlad, Finkel had told Briggs that he could fight on the undercard for $250,000. It was then that it took a long time for Maskaev's team to give an answer and Briggs was left waiting. Briggs ended up going over to Don King and everything was then ruined.

These are words from Shelly Finkel. You can choose to believe either side. It appears to me that you just choose to believe anything and everything that you feel could put Klitschko in a negative light.

Vitali Vs. Kirk Johnson was sold out in MSG, even with a huge snow storm!

Vlad is in another class than Briggs, Briggs would be knocked out, Briggs has zero stamina and not chin.

I would think that Wladimir is the champion who fights only the best.

M8 it was 3.30 am i had to get to sleep, you will also notice i mentioned the division in previous decades, the general view of the current heavyweight division is that it is one of the weakest of all time so in that instance alone my point is justified.
I would say that the middleweight divison and lightheavyweight divisions are weaker than the heavyweight division and can't see how someone could argue otherwise. I would also say the current cruiserweight division is lacking in temrs of top fighters compared to the heavyweight division with wlad and vitali being well above anyone at that weight. I do think in temrs of strength in depth they are quite simular as cruiserweight has a number good and solid fighters.
In terms of supermiddleweight i think it is stacked with strong fighters and potential talent and with the top fighters at middleweight lacking alot of real challenge they can be added to the numbers in some instances as people like pavlik have shown a willingness to fight above middleweight and guys like taylor have justmoved into the division.

Mentioning adamek is laughable he was on nobodies radar at the point haye was going for the titles, losing to chad dawson and beating two nobodies don't put him in line to fight haye.
In regards to cunningham that could is a fight that maybe should ahve happened but at the time mormeck was the main guy in the division so haye had to go for him first. You must be able to see why he fought enzo mac next but i would have liked him to fight cunningham after that so nobody could question hayes reign at cruiserweight. In terms of a fight between the two cunninghams lack of power and weakish chin should really point to an easy haye victory i don't see what cunningham could bring to compete with haye.

dont worry just yet punisher. i really think it's still happening. look at pacman vs. hatton for an example of recent bargaining which was on and off more times than a hooker on a bed. june 20th is a looong way off.

in my personal opinion, based on how much money wladimir can/will generate (i consider him a kind of de la hoya in the heavies. everyone wants to fight him not because they think they can easily ko him, but more because he brings in big paydays) haye will come back to the table and accept less than what he hoped, to make it happen.

afterall, if he has that much belief in himself, he will know that after beating wladimir he will have 1 or 2 more huge paydays setup in a row. screw the fact he will have to vacate the belts. the paydays and the fact he will cement his position as the head honcho of the devision if he takes out both brothers would be enormous for his legacy and position.

everyone in both teams know this. i really think it's less about greed and more about inexperience in negotiations. adam booth is doing EVERTHING almost. it's silly really. they should have hired a pro to do the deals.

i think they will realise this and the fight will go from "suspended" to back on.

afterall despite what us hardcore boxing fans want, wlad can easily continue to meet his mandatories and make huge cash, and retain his huge fanbase. haye on the other hand will have to take many risks just to get into mandatory position. and once in mandatory position he will be stuck with whatever the rules are for getting paid. at least in the current situation he has a slightly better chance of getting paid better and without any risks in working his way up the ladder. look at holyfield. he didn't go straight into his unification fight with lewis did he?

give it a few weeks and it'll be back on :good

I think I would personally lose a lot of respect for both Klitschko's if Wlad took a fight with Arreola instead. Everyone has heard Vitali say on television that Haye would get to fight either him or his brother this summer. They come out with bull**** stories about how they decided who would get the honour with a coin toss yada yada...

The amount of **** Lennox gets from Klitschko fans for saying he would rematch Vitali and not keeping his word. How could they possibly defend the Klitschko's for saying they would fight David Haye and then backing out?

Get the point yet? Your entire theory of the Heavyweight division being weak is by judging it against other divisions. Then, you admit that it is stronger than the middleweight, light heavyweight and Cruiserweight divisions.:patsch Also, I completely disagree about the Super middleweight division being stronger than Heavyweight. I honestly don't even think that it's close. The heavyweight division as A LOT of talent in it right now. Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali Klitschko, David Haye, Povetkin, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Peter, Chambers, Dimitrenko, Brock, Arreola, Thompson, Valuev, Gomez, ect.... And you still have guys like Rahman, Ruiz, Brewster, Maskaev, Virchis, James Toney, Briggs, McCline, Austin, Golota, Holyfield, ect.. kicking around in the division as well. You also have a pretty big group of prospects out there who everyone is waiting to see pan out.
