Another thing Arreola has got to do is go to the body. I see a lot of fighters fight like they are as tall as their opponent. Arreola has got to remember that he is much closer to VK's body, so take advantage of it.
Show up, get a big pay check, get knocked out. Then join the ESPN club fighter circuit on the island of exposed heavyweights.
Go to the body early. Make the fight sloppy and wear vitali down Take the fight to the deep rds Hope Vitali fades due to his age or cuts or your body work
Arreolas only chance is to make the fight dirty. He has to try to step on Vitali's feet in the infight, hoping he injures himself. Or clinch his arms and twist them, hoping he can injury Vitali's shoulder. Stuff like that. He has to try physically break the old man down, it's his only chance.
Get inside that jab early and make hard rugged attacks to throw Vitali off his game.. Don't let him feel at ease and rush him into making mistakes and steal a few early rounds and unsettle him.. On the outside Arreola would just set himself up for being another Samuel P.. Once Vitali gets that jab pumping, its all but game over .. Arreola has to fight smart and be prepared to let the hands go just sooo frequently and do damage from inside making it just hard for the Ukranian to mount a proper offensive.. Arreola has a shot but its a very long one , speed and illusive movements are key to beating him , Vitali loves creating space, space to him is like a blank canvas to Picasso.
Good call. I just don't like the upper body movement of Arreola to get inside that jab. If nothing else, Vitali throws lots of combos and most heavies are of the one and done variety. The other big factor is the underrated footwork of Klitschko. He doesn't punch and wait for a receipt. If Chris could slip/slide/move forward real fast it'd help the cause. But that's also draining that gastank and that 3 minutes per round of activity is a tough task to implement as a fresh new gameplan.
I agree about Arreola's lack of footwork. He is somewhat of a sitting duck, stands there like a statue at times. IMO, he has to try rush inside, not necessarily to land, but first and foremost to grab and wear down Vitali in the early rounds. Vitali is the bigger man, but given the age difference Arreola should be stronger and his stamina should be able to regenerate faster so he could wear Vitali down in the later rounds. Then again... Arreola is so untrained and has never gone through stamina conditioning in his LIFE so what the hell am I dreaming about. Arreola's strength and conditioning levels at age 28 are probably worse than Vitali's at 38. Vitali wins by TKO 5.
I think CA should fight this fight like its a 6 rounder - give it all from the opening bell...adopt some of Tysons bobbing and weaving, head movement and just give lots of pressure pressure pressure...throw bombs and combos when up close. He'll have to catch a few on the way in but if he gets in there thats were his chance is. He isnt going to outbox Vitali over 12 rounds. Vitali is getting old now at 38, it could show up suddenly in any of his next few fights...this could be the one. But if I have to bet then I'll be putting my money on Vitali to chop him down like he did Sam Peter. Vitali's chin as shown itself to be like pure granite...but I do think he is very much human and definately can be hurt. Against Sanders he showed a few times he was hurt and held on...he did against Lewis. Yeah he absorbed them, recovered and stayed up but has shown that he isn't invincible. He can be stopped...if someone has what it takes to keep banging and chipping away. Nobody is unstoppable. Can Chris do it? Really not sure. But pressure is his one chance.
