Realized there is no sense debating a one eyed Floyd fan.

Not defending Mayweather. Just telling the truth. So, let's put things in perspective. In January 2003, KT fought Leija. KT got injured and did not return until November 2004, when he fought and stopped Mitchell in the 2nd round. He then fought Hatton in June 2005. That means KT fought less than 2 rounds in 2-1/2 years. You think with that type of inactivity KT at 35 years old, was ready for Floyd? Or do you think he should have fought Floyd in November 2004 for his comeback fight?

Another thing, Floyd had his 1st fight at 140 in May 2004 against Corley. Right in the middle of KT's recovery. So, KT had 2 fights while Floyd was at 140 and retired. So in your estimation, when should the fight have happened?

Yeah we know why. Kostya had seen better days but floyd fangirls would be hyping the win if it had been their guy. Tim fights all comers and has a fan friendly style. some hyperbolic local cheerleading aside... How can anyone hate the guy? Hes done his best to step outside of his fathers shadow and fights everyone. Won world titles with no shortcuts. Most sons of champions dont do that. The Tim hate is insane. Kostya already cemented his legacy and the story of Tim Tszyu is far from over.

Not a Floyd fan girl or Tszyu hater. But the Tszyu fans bring it on themselves when they make dumb statements like Floyd ducked Kostya. You realize, they were only active in the same division from November 2004 until June 2005? 7 months, then Tszyu retired. Are we certain that Tszyu didn't retire to duck Floyd? LOL

Not much would change imo, just maybe take a bit longer. Eventually class rises to the top, and eventually he would have.

Maybe theres a small chance hes not as popular at the right time if not for Gatti, so then he doesnt get the Oscar fight when he does, which changes his star trajectory a little bit, but who knows, maybe that lack of star power winds up with him making the fights he should have made at the right times, giving him the same or more star power in the end. Hard to say.

I think he rises to the top regardless and eventually becomes a star.

Yeah mate the Floyd fan girls can’t even be honest with themselves. They claim they don’t hate Tszyu but say things like “he is a quitter” “He lost to a crack head” then make a laundry list of excuses why Floyd didn’t fight him with a bogus timeline of events they are calling facts as if they were in the know  History tells us Floyd took the easier options stacked the deck in his favour and avoided dangerous guys in their prime and because Floyd was undefeated they will say well so and so lost to this guy so Floyd would’ve beaten him lol it is just fan girl logic not even worth arguing with. “Floyd was 10000 light years better than him” GTFO  Yep there is no reason to hate Tim he has represented his family and his home country Australia very well and it’s not over yet.

You state everything like it was a fact as if you were in on the negotiations
Also Tszyu took Mitchell out in the 3rd not the second round.

Floyd never faced Joel Casamayor at Junior Lightweight. Casamayor was an undefeated Olympic gold medalist & reigning world champ when Floyd was at Junior Lightweight. He was a very tricky southpaw. American media looked the other way on that one.

Floyd never faced Stevie Johnston at Lightweight. Floyd himself said Johnston was the best Lightweight in the world when he moved into that division. He was another tricky southpaw. Floyd did face the guy who beat him but he didn't face the guy who he considered was the best.

Floyd never faced Kostya Tszyu who was Undisputed World Champ at Light Welter but had been stripped of a couple of belts by the time Floyd began campaigning there (May 2004). Tszyu wouldn't defend against Gianluca Branco who was #1 contender with the WBC & was stripped. Actually, he would happily have defended against Branco but Showtime wouldn't pay for that fight. Gatti fought Branco for the 'vacant' title, won & then defended against Floyd & lost.

The television situation is the reason Kostya & Floyd didn't fight but there's no question Floyd pursued the path of least resistance at the time.

The dates I stated are correct. The time line is on point. So, Tszyu fought less than 3 rounds in 2-1/2 years when he fought Hatton. You think Tszyu was ready for Mayweather in November 2004 or June 2005? If Mayweather beat Tszyu would you give him full credit or say exactly what I'm saying about Tszyu's inactivity.

Bottom line Tszyu and Mayweather were only actively fighting in the same division for 7 months before KT retired. I don't know how you can keep pushing the narrative that FM ducked.

I'm not pushing any narrative I am giving my opinion that I believe Mayweather wanted nothing to do with Tszyu as history tells us Floyd didn't like fighting dangerous guys in their prime. He learnt his lesson after the first JLC fight in my opinion and protecting his zero was his MO.

My opinion is that the only duck was Margarito. The examples you used in your argument were, Tszyu, Cotto, Mosley and Dela Hoya. I already disproved the Tszyu narrative with chronological facts. Now let's talk Cotto. When Cotto was at 140, I believe after the Bronco fight, he was asked about fighting FM, Arum jumped in and said Cotto wasn't ready yet and needed 2-3 more fights. What about Mosley? OK, Mosley moved to 147 in 2000, Mayweather was still at 130. 3 divisions separated them. Oscar moved up th 154 in 2000. 4 divisions separated them. Did you really expect FM to jump several divisions to make those fights? I think those fights happen when the could be made. FM didn't move to 147 until 2005. I asked thi question before and you never responded, but I'll ask again. Given the time lines and all the men you said FM ducked, when do you think these fight could have happened?

I am not that invested in Floyd enough to care and examine timelines. What I do know is he didn't fight many elite guys in their prime to be held in the regard a lot of his fans hold him. I also find it hilarious that fans of his defend him like a lawyer in a courtroom like you have done in this thread trying to catch witnesses out by stating exact dates and posing questions demanding answers
