what if sanders and wlad had a rematch....... i say sanders in 1 rd.....hey man the straight left that sanders hit vitali in rd 1 of thier fight was landed on wlad in the first rd...it woulda been a 1 rd ko wit wlads shaky chin....but rematch i say sanders 1 to 3 rds....sanders hands were just to fast and wlad couldnt addapt cause the punches were comin from odd angles unlike byrd who isa light puncher sanders is not......
Wlad would of beat him. I think Wlad comes in to fight smarter the second time around and prepares properly. Sanders declined to rematch him anyway. Wlad despite the chin, has a lot of heart, and has shown if he wants it bad enough he can recover and win.
Sanders would've knocked him out again. Although I think Wlad might've lasted a couple more rounds the second time around.... maybe.
Blow outs like that don't get rematches...Vlad didn't do a thing in that fight to make anyone think he stood a chance against Sanders... Big bro Vitali vs. Sanders was much more sellable...And Vitali kicked the crap out of Sanders, who btw looked winded from walking into the ring....
It depends when the rematch was. Before 2006, Sanders wins it. After 2006, Wlad wins it. For those who thinks Wlad loses it again everytime, just look at Brewster 2.
with wlads fragile jaw and psyche, im havign a hard time, seeing him, winning against the golfer. he waited several years to rematch brewster and only did so, when brewster was shot.
Here they are, the prophets of the unprovable on the roll again. Is this the only way for you to feel comfortable when your fantasies can't be denied by reality?
Styles make fights, and Sanders style beats Wlad 10 outta ten times, unless Wlad somehow survives past 6, then Wlad by TKO.
There is a reason why Sanders openly admitted to avoiding this rematch back then. Sanders knew that he dodged a bullet... he didn't get lucky... but he beat a fighter who was better than himself and he wouldn't have done it again. This is why Sanders sat on his title and refused a rematch... then even vacated his title to avoid a forced mandatory against Lamon Brewster (with the winner forced to fight Wlad next). Sanders was looking to cash in on his huge upset against Wlad. Sanders said himself in a video interview with maxboxing back then that the only way he would grant Wlad the rematch that he wanted is if he beat Vitali in their fight. Sanders went on to get beat by Vitali and the rest is history.
