The Manny Steward trained version of Wlad would probably beat Sanders. But you can't be sure of anything with heavyweights, especially with a big puncher like Sanders. That having been said, I think Vitali with his great chin beats Sanders every time.

Past prime Sanders blasted out Prime agressive Wlado Klitschko, unless Wlad got a chin transplant, today who knows it would be jab jab jab maybe a grab , prob not shown on tv as well

I think it was highly probable that Wladimir would stop Sanders in a rematch. That high probability made Sanders avoid the rematch. He even dropped the belt.

Avoided a rematch with Wlad, to fight a tougher brother? :think

Maybe he just wasn’t feeling to give rematch a guy, who he destroyed easily in two rounds. Rematches against guy you blast away that easily are extremely rare

Kotelnik is curently claiming he wants rematch with Khan and when it dosent happen, I wouldnt plame Khan for not taking it. It just dosent make much sence to fight guy who gave you no challenge

Yeah, saying Sanders ducked a rematch with Wlad, when he took on Vitali next (despite the ring rust and lack of proper training), seems a bit of an odd way to look at it.

Wlad had to go and rebuild and rethink. He arguably still didn't do that properly until he lost to Brewster the following year.

So if this had happened anytime from 2005 onwards, Wlad knocks him out. If it was an immediate rematch, no, Wlad could well be in trouble of getting stopped again. His head wouldn't have been in the right place.

So he didn’t get lucky, but he beat the better fighter that night and could not in any circumstances do it again? :think

Sounds like getting lucky excuse to me

Sanders wanted to fight for the WBC, in fact he dropped the WBO belt to do so.

Sanders wanted the WBC and he had to fight Vitali for it, do the math for Heaven's sake.

You said it made no sense that Sanders refused a rematch against Wlad so he could fight the "tougher brother" in your own words.

It absolutely made sense to refuse rematch, when he had already beat Wlad easily. He moved on to new bigger challenges.

I just dont understand how someone here are blaming him for it
