What year was Bob Foster born?

I'm seeing 42 on wikipedia. Foster was the real deal and a dude that very easily could have been a heavyweight champ in a different era. We all know about his legendary power but he was a very smart fighter as well.

 

I believe 1938 is correct

 

Just to cause even more confusion, his gravestone in Fairview Memorial Park cemetery in Albuquerque where he is interred, states he was born born on 15 December 1937.

The person asked what year was Foster born not if you think he was the real deal, he could be "heavyweight champion in a different era, or do you think he could punch hard.
