What year saw our best champions on the throne?
For example 1974 was a good one
    Hvy Foreman
    LH Foster
    M Monzon
    W Napoles
    JW Cervantes
    L Duran
    JLVillaflor
    F vacant
    b Taylor
    F Vacant

all the heavier boys were top quality, how many years can match them?

1974 is a classic year. It was unbelievable how good that era was, with those all time greats reigning, and the free tv for the most part, and 15 rounds as the classic championship distance.

I haven't got the inclination to look right now, but at one point in the 80's the list below won't have been too far off the mark

    Larry Holmes
    Michael Spinks
    Marvin Hagler
    Wilfred Benitez
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Aaron Pryor
    Alexis Arguello
    Samuel Serrano
    Salvador Sanchez
    Wilfredo Gomez
    Jeff Chandler/Lupe Pintor

I think one or two above MIGHT not co-incide, but **** it will be close if this is the case. That truly is an unbelievable mix as well, and not THAT FAR back.

    Holmes easily compares with Foreman.

    Spinks deffo compares with Foster.

    Hagler and Monzon are close.

    Leonard needs no explanation.

Arguello is a bit behind Roberto but Pryor at the in between weight sure don't hurt.

The rest below are damn fine fighters too.

The early 80's, an unbelievable era!!!!
