What you can't take away from calzaghe

Three things that are indeed admirable, but which would have been infinitely more admirable had he proven these qualities consistently in fights with stronger opposition, which was available in his era.

I must admit, I did love his mentality when he was floored though. To come firing back after a KD is the sign of an iron will. All the greats have that. :good

Joes best win was a controversial draw vs a 43 year old Hopkins..it was the 1st and only time he faced an ELITE fighter...and he to many came unstuck

Kessler was his best win at supermiddle...Kessler is hardly headed for the HOF is he

Hopkins was elite, but he was years past-prime.

But you can't rule Kessler out of the HOF yet, because if he wins the Super Six he could be there!

 

er no it was a clear win actually. it was kelly pavlik who was going to run through calzaghe aswell wasnt it, people shut up soon after hopkins "controversially" beat the **** out of him easily.

RJJ said exactly the same thing after the fight. It's a point that's never brought up. But obviously, his punches are effective since they never steam right in and go after Calzaghe - not one.

 

Calzaghe fights nothing like any of them, as you say, styles make fights and NO ONE has ever been able to solve calzaghe.
